Obama rejects Bill Clinton's criticism

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer 7 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama said Tuesday that former President Clinton was making a leap to compare treatment of his wife in the presidential race to the "swift boat" criticism of John Kerry in 2004.

The former president had encouraged an audience in Nevada Monday not to let "trivial matters" take away the election from the Democrats as they have in the past. He cited the television ads during the 2004 presidential campaign that questioned Kerry's patriotism and campaign commercials in 2002 suggesting that Sen. Max Cleland, D-Ga. was soft on terrorism.

Both Kerry and Cleland won medals for their service in Vietnam, during which Cleland lost three limbs. Both were defeated after the ads aired.

"I was pretty stunned by that statement," Obama said with a chuckle when asked about the former president's comment in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

Clinton's comments are extraordinarily unconscionable. The criticism of what HRC said in public is completely fair. He deems it "trivial". If people agree, they will ignore the complains - as trivial. If they think that either the issue is important or that taking 2 stands in 2 minutes is a problem - then this is a fair issue. There is nothing untruthful, unethical or immoral in those criticisms.

The SBVT were despicable liars. They made up lies and accused JK of incredibly awful things. The record was completely clear - yet the media played with this. If Bill Clinton can not tell the difference between that unethical immoral slime and honest criticism of HRC, I question his values. (I suspect that he has no real respect for what Cleland and Kerry did.)

of the very problems we have today. They created the telecommunications act which allowed consolodation, they pushed through NAFTA. PIGS. They are rePIG light. Can't trust them.

3. Love the whirlwind negativity of that headline: "rejects", "criticism"
The AP marches on...
