Judge: Limbaugh medical records off limits for now (15 Days)
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/01/05/limbaugh.painkillers.ap/index.html

Rush Limbaugh's medical records will remain off-limits to prosecutors for at least 15 days more while his attorneys pursue an appeal, a judge ruled Monday.

Limbaugh's attorneys asked for the extension while they appeal the judge's earlier decision allowing prosecutors to examine the files for evidence that the conservative radio commentator illegally purchased painkillers.

Limbaugh's attorneys argue that the seizure of the records from doctors in Florida and California violated Limbaugh's privacy and that the investigation was politically motivated.

"It's not really a question of wrongdoing. It's a question of privacy rights in Florida," attorney Mark Shapiro said Monday.

He said the records include "the most private conversations between doctor and patient."

4. Whatever.
Anyone else who is charged with a crime which requires evidence from health or psychiatric records are subject to having the State review those records. Mr Limbaugh's "privacy" concerns can be covered by a very simple protective order and any evidence that is pertinent/relevant to the underlying charges can be reviewed by the court to do a balance test including Mr. Limbaugh's "privacy" concerns.

Join the real world, RUSH. This is how the rest of the drug users and abusers are treated. This is how you must be treated as well. Stop acting like a victim!!!

7. I suppose my "ill-feelings" about this individual,...
are spilling over. But, I must say,...why should anyone sympathize with a man who has demonstrated NO sympathy for, to the contrary has emotionally assasinated so many people,...FOR A LIVING, without any conscience of either his hypocrisy or his detrimental impact upon us all. Now, he is mixed in that real world of people whom he has passionately persecuted and by whose sacrifice he profitted. Time for him to just take it and take it and take it,...that which he so lavisiously dished out.

8. I've never heard of insurance records being confidential
That may be a different way of looking at this, I'm sure the pigboy has enough health insurance to cover fifteen poor people, those records should indicate payment to more than one doctor, and unless cash was paid for scripts then there should be a record there as well.

9. I could be wrong on this, but I remember reading somewhere
that he doesn't have private medical insurance. Pays for it all himself - and since he says he's "healthy" - he pays virtually nothing - unless you count his current drug habbit, of course!

This came up during a discussion on National Health Care & Medicare/Medicade/Prescription Drug coverage I believe.

Does anyone else know for sure?

10. "the most private conversations between doctor and patient."
It's got to be about butt cysts. Rush doesn't want the world to know about his unsanitary personal habits that likely caused butt cysts.

13. "unsanitary personal habits" like this?
From an old story about Limbaugh when he worked in Kansas City:
Adventures With Jeff

I have met and partied with Rush Limbaugh.
It's true methane breath.

"Getthefuckoutta here," you say! Of course when I knew him, he went by the alias of "Jeff Christie." This was back in the "old daze." Late 1974, 1975.

. . .

"Jeff" was a prankster even then. He would ask someone for a 10 or 20 dollar bill to show them a trick. Today those bills would be like a $1000 dollars. He would then take the bill and stuff it down the back of his pants and wipe his ass with it. He then would attempt to give the bill back to it's owner and say, "You want this back?" He often picked up extra change doing that.

. . .

12. Maybe Rush Shithead should have thought about Bill Clinton's
right to privacy back in the day. I hope they send Rush to the Big House for 99 years.
