Mexico migrants locked in lorry

Mexican police have found 81 Central American migrants locked
inside an abandoned lorry near the US border in the northern
state of Nuevo Leon.

The migrants, including nine children, were found underneath
a false floor, where they had been trapped for two days with
virtually no food or water.

The 65 Salvadorans, 14 Hondurans and two Guatemalans all
survived, but many were suffering from severe dehydration.

On Monday, 289 illegal migrants were found in a lorry in
southern Mexico.

2. This isn't about "hating the poor," it's about "coyotes" bilking them then leaving them to die.
A Mexican "guide" tells a bunch of immigrants he'll transport them safely and secretly across the border for a modest fee of ... everything they have. Once he's done that he transports them just far enough that they'll be in unfamiliar surroundings and leaves them where they might not be found in time. The folks in the article are the lucky ones. They ALL survived.

Almost as bad are the few corrupt Mexican police who, instead of arresting or otherwise detaining immigrants, they simply steal whatever the immigrants are carrying and turn a blind eye as they continue to the border.

3. agreed the coyotes are evil --
but there are a whole host of evils that the poor -- like these folk -- face -- they have no chance at real self determination at home -- with the coyote -- the mexican police -- etc.

the coyote is another link in a chain.

4. A coyote killed a man for not paying up near my house in Raleigh, NC
Stabbed him in a field by a gas station and left him to die. They found the dude in Pennsylvania, and he's fighting extradiction back here to face murder charges.

It just makes me sick that these people are allowed to pass freely across our border with people locked up in false floors, and recently in the actual engine compartment with the hood strapped down shut.

It just plain sick.
