By FREDERIC J. FROMMER, AP

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - Sen. Norm Coleman, who championed Rachel Paulose's nomination as U.S. attorney for Minnesota last year, told her he was "deeply disappointed" to learn of the self-demotions of three of the top prosecutors in her office.

Coleman, R-Minn., made the comment in a letter to Paulose on Tuesday, in which he cited media reports that the resignations were made because of concerns about her management style and abilities. ~snip~

Also Tuesday, the state's other senator, Democrat Amy Klobuchar, urged the Justice Department to inform Congress if it uncovers any evidence that political pressure was a factor in the resignations.

Klobuchar made the request in a letter to Steve Parent, the acting director of the Justice Department's Executive Office for United States Attorneys. She cited the "serious credibility issues" the Justice Department faces regarding the firing of eight U.S. attorneys last year. ~snip~

15. Like a good Bushie, Norm likes to talk about "family values"
This is his wife Laurie, who lives in California:

3. INVESTIGATE HIM!
I know that language and the timing smells to high heaven. This is almost a week since this happened. Or at least, since the news broke.

Methinks Sen. Coleman has something to hide.

6. Did Rachel Paulose Allow a Convicted Felon to Keep Property Worth $794,500?
Gary Dean Zimmermann (a Green) was convicted of bribery after being caught on tape requesting and accepting cash bribes from a Hmmer-driving Republican who held a fundraiser for Norm Coleman.

Zimmermann was given a court-appointed attorney because Zimmermann said he was broke.

At the time of the trial, Zimmermann owned 3 properties worth $794,500 .. and according to the MInneapolis website, he still does.

---------

The blindness to Zimmermann's obvious betrayal of his constituents and left wing allies as he sat with his briber for hours schmoozing and expressing disappointment that he wasn't invited to a Norm Coleman fund raiser is appalling. Don't you all get it? Zimmermann was very comfortable having his chicken wings and rum and cokes with Gary Carlson.

---------

Zimmermann liked to hang out with Republicans and crooked developers.:

In May 2005 Azzam invited Carlson to a Shriner’s function for African-American businesses (Azzam had told him it was the Sierra Club on Park Avenue). Carlson had a private conversation with Zimmermann outside when Carlson took a cigarette break. Carlson mentioned he had recently had a fundraiser for Norm Coleman at his house; Zimmermann chided Carlson for not inviting him. Carlson replied by saying he didn’t think Zimmermann would want to attend a Republican fundraiser.

Zimmermann responded by saying, “Liberals, Greens, Democrats, Republicans…it’s all money.”

7. A reminder of the type of character we're dealing with in Norm Coleman

"To be accused of a lack of moral character by Senator Norm Coleman is a bit like being told to sit up straight by the Hunchback of Notre Dame."

11. And it's the same tired attempt to frame everything as a "mistake"
Instead of OUT and OUT CORRUPTION.

She didn't make any "mistakes." She did exactly what she was trained to do at the Patwah 'Law' school: be a good little rePiglican tool.

12. Coleman has only Coleman to blame for putting an ideologue like Rachel Paulose
as US Attorney. Paulose is another of those Christian law school graduates that totally incompetent for the position to which she was appointed by the President, and confirmed by the Senate.
