Auto parts maker Delphi to outsource 650 finance jobs to India's Genpact

Published: April 2, 2007

WASHINGTON: Delphi Corp. is pushing to "significantly" reduce the number of North American and European employees handling its bills and receipts by outsourcing those jobs to an Indian company.

In papers filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan, Delphi said it reached a deal to hand over a variety of finance-related tasks to India's Genpact International LLC.

The shift will affect 650 Delphi positions worldwide, said Claudia Piccinin, a spokeswoman for Troy, Michigan-based Delphi. Piccinin said she didn't know how many U.S. positions would be affected.

Genpact is one of India's biggest outsourcing companies. Under an 88-month contract with Delphi, Genpact will handle the processing of bills and receipts, travel and expense reporting and contract administration, Delphi said in court papers.

Accounting firms eyeing India

Mumbai March 13, 2007

When Control Solutions, one of the biggest accounting firms in the US dealing with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) accounting compliance procedures, wanted to recruit accountants for its expanding practice, it looked at Enabilizer, a New Delhi-based accounting outsourcing firm.

The two signed a joint venture agreement on February 22 that allows Control Solutions to outsource its SOX work to the Indian JV.

Rain, a mid-sized South African accounting firm, chose to hire six experienced senior staff from its network partner in India, the Mumbai-based Chokshi and Chokshi for two years.

3. This is absolutely criminal....and the administration stands back
and allows this to continue to happen...

At some point the government will have to put a stop to it...America's stability is more important than Corporations wanting to make more bucks..

These are finance related jobs...so our kids getting their Finance degrees will have to take lower pay so they can get a job..

7. The nazis more than just allow offshoring/inshoring to happen.
They give tax breaks to companies as incentives to ship jobs offshore and keep Americans impoverished. :grr:

5. So, most of Delphi's product
is manufactured in Mexico. And their backoffice workers are now in India.

Can someone please tell me why the hell they can even file anything in a U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan?

They are no longer an American company - F'em - liquidate their assets

6. But...aren't the "finance jobs" the type of service sector jobs "they" told us
we wanted in the US? Not those nastly, lowly manufacturing jobs?

Suckers!!!
