Nigerian presidential candidate dies - media

A Nigerian presidential candidate died on Thursday, local radio and television stations reported, casting doubt over whether landmark elections will hold as scheduled next month.

Adebayo Adefarati, candidate of the opposition Alliance for Democracy, died suddenly in the southwestern state of Ondo, private radio Ray Power FM reported.

Nigeria's Electoral Act stipulates that elections can be postponed if a candidate dies.

The BBC news ticker says "polls set to be postponed", but doesn't give more details.
