VANCOUVER - B.C.'s first same-sex wedding could take place in Vancouver on Tuesday – if the B.C. Court of Appeal gives its blessing.

The court is expected to decide Tuesday to remove the province's one-year delay for same-sex marriages.

If it does, B.C.'s first gay wedding will take place a short time later.

Alberta will ultimately have to perform same gender marriages, though. Marriage is federal policy in Canada really, and the "notwithstanding clause" will not be upheld by the courts, from everything I've read.
