U.S. Won't Seek Death for Aussie Suspect
CANBERRA, Australia (AP)

The United States has assured Australia it will not seek a death sentence against an Australian terror suspect detained at Guantanamo Bay if he is convicted, Australia's defense minister said Monday.

The comments by Defense Minister Robert Hill came as Justice Minister Chris Ellison arrived in Washington to join a British delegation lobbying U.S. officials for a fair trial for their detained nationals. ---

1. Hmmmmm, such double standards......
which puts a spin on how DANGEROUS the detained are -- if you can rule out the #1 punishment based on NATIONALITY. I guess our govt is making sure to DISCRIMINATE against certain peoples.

Will our govt make the same promise to another country? Like, say, Afghanistan?
