CNN: Gore to party with MoveOn members: 1,800 "Inconvenient Truth" screening parties Saturday night

Gore to party with MoveOn members

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Vice President Al Gore is slated to hold a live conference call with thousands of MoveOn.org members who will gather at 1,800 screening parties of Gore's acclaimed movie "An Inconvenient Truth" Saturday night.

Gore will answer questions about the movie and urge the next Congress to address global warming issues, according to MoveOn.org which is sponsoring the event.

Gore is also slated to personally deliver letters to Congress -- to be written by the party goers -- urging environmental action.

AlGore.com, JohnKerry.com, Sierra Club, stopglobalwarming.org, League of Conservation Voters, Rainforest Action Network, Care2.com, Working Assets and The Alliance for the New Humanity are also sponsors.

1. It's wonderful that this has actually been reported on by CNN.
We're in the middle of remodeling and the house is not set up for any major company yet but in the future we're hoping to participate in events such as this. There doesn't seem to be anyone else up here doing it and although we're rather rural we're midway between a couple of college towns and a port city (about 25 minutes) and goodness knows there's plenty of parking. :)

3. I'm going to a party tonight
Found a couple throwing a party within miles from me. Found out about it through a John Kerry email. I'm excited about meeting like minded people.

4. I've seen it in the theater and w/ Gore in person....
.. but I'm still going tonite. I want to talk with people about it.

Just saw "Who Killed the Electric Car?", and I just boil when I think of where we could be re: oil, the ME, the environment, not to mention the War, if Gore had actually taken office in 2000.
