Moscow hospital fire 'kills 42'

A fire at a Moscow drug rehabilitation hospital has killed at least 42 people and injured two more, reports say.
The blaze broke out at the 17th hospital, in the south-west of Moscow, at 0140 on Saturday (2240 GMT Friday), the Itar-Tass agency said.

5. I asked people. Their responses to fires were not prompt. "Fire prevention Month"...
was comprised of sidewalk billboards with photographs of charred bodies.

But, really, they just didn't respond as they do in most parts of the USofA. And I lived near Leninsky Prospect, a major boulevard you'd think fire trucks would have used.

There was a fire in a building near a friend of mine's apt. and he said it burned for quite a while.

Thousands of children are homeless on the streets of Moscow and other major Russian cities, but the Russian people look the other way when they walk by.

8. Well, they've been in a state of economic collapse.
Times are tough. There were roving packs of wild dogs, etc.

Perhaps the poster above just didn't wasn't aware of it, or wasn't in the vicinity of fires during his/her time there.

You did not see fire engines charging up/down Leninsky Prospect as you do say, Wisconsin Ave. in DC. You just didn't.

There were not nearly as many fire stations either.
