W.House won't accept all proposals from Baker group

WASHINGTON, Dec 8 (Reuters) - The White House on Friday dismissed former Secretary of State James Baker's appeal that his Iraq recommendations be largely adopted as a whole and said President George W. Bush was considering various proposals for a change in course.

...

"I hope we don't treat this as a fruit salad, and say, 'I like this but I don't like that,'" Baker had said.

But White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said the report by the group, led by Baker and former Democratic congressman Lee Hamilton, would be considered along with internal reviews being conducted by the Pentagon, the State Department and the National Security Council.

...

"I understand that Secretary Baker's comment yesterday about the fruit salad is descriptive, I think, of how they feel about it; however, I don't think the president considers it as any type of food," she said.

"I think that he is going to digest it, however, and he will take the time that he needs in order to figure out how he wants to move forward."

2. they will accept proposal to privatize the oil
Now it comes out! Its always about screwing them out of the oil.
If it is privatized, guess who makes the most money off of the oil, it aint Iraq.

Had to know if "election fixer" Baker was involved, it was going to stink.
No wonder he wants ALL of the recommendations to be accepted.

Oil for Sale: Iraq Study Group Recommends Privatization By Antonia Juhasz
07 Dec 2006 President Bush hired an employee from the U.S. consultancy firm Bearing Point Inc. over a year ago to advise the Iraq Oil Ministry on the drafting and passage of a new national oil law. As previously drafted, the law opens Iraq's nationalized oil sector to private foreign corporate investment, but stops short of full privatization. The ISG report, however, goes further, stating that "the United States should assist Iraqi leaders to reorganize the national oil industry as a commercial enterprise." ...If these proposals are followed, Iraq's national oil industry will be privatized and opened to foreign firms, and in control of all of Iraq's oil wealth.

6. The ISG report specifically states NOT to cherry-pick from it
They knew Bush would try to mess with it and screw up their plan, so they threw in a line warning against adopting only some proposals

The press should stay all over this, but they won't.
