I'd guess 50, with Cheney casting the tie-breaker. Too bad they'll only have 49!

39. Interesting. Word seems to be
that the Libertarians doth boned and screwn them.

I dunno, I'm kind of liking that new terminology:

SCREWN - (skroon; adj.; FR ultra-slang, fr."screwed," slang)
1. Ousted, as in "Democrats decidedly screwn Republicans in the 2006 election"
2. Served, as in,"Mr. President, you are screwn"

Loving every minute of this. I thought I died in 2000, and I died again in '04. Resurrection is sweet.

For some reason, it's got a kind of Old-world charm to it.

Verily, they hath screwn us for too long, yet now is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer...

Don't forget Bernie Sanders (I) VT. He will side with the Dems, but he is a bit too liberal for them.
I was truly surprised when my own Congressman, Maurice Hinchey, (D-NY22) had no opposition. He's as liberal as they come. I am proud of him, and now cannot wait for him to be unleashed on Bushco, Inc.

Since he was about 5, he's always gone the polls with me. I'm so glad his first time voting was so satisfying!

I work at a newspaper and got home at about 2:30 Wednesday morning. He wasn't sleeping but hadn't been watching the returns. After learning about what happened, he did a little victory dance in our living room. Like everyone else here, we're still walking on air!

Then try him for war crimes and profiteering.

I realize you have a lot to clean up, but this thug should not walk.

A big apology to Iraq is also in order. But if you really want to say you're sorry, try the person responsible for the Iraqis murdered in this illegal war - George W. Bush.

59. Yaaaay Montana
As a Montana voter, I'm relieved and overjoyed that Tester won, but still appalled that nearly 50% of the voters supported that corrupt bastard Burns. Thank goodness it wasn't enough, and it doesn't look like it'll be close enough for a recount, either. So Cheney, you can take your hopes of casting the tie-breaking votes and go fuck yourself. As you yourself would no doubt put it.

Thanks for the link to the Freepers forum upthread. I don't know what's funnier -- their anger, their despair or their spelling.

Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 06:47 PM by mcscajun
Lieberman will be one of two independents in the new Senate. Rep. Bernie Sanders, an eight-terms congressman who calls himself a socialist, won the seat of retiring Sen. Jim Jeffords, also an independent. Both Lieberman and Sanders have said they will align themselves with Democrats.
