Bush accuses Democrats of lacking plan for Iraq

STATESBORO, Georgia (Reuters) - Weakened by the unpopular Iraq war, President George W. Bush accused Democrats of lacking a plan to win it on Monday as he opened a weeklong drive to try to keep Republicans in control of the U.S. Congress.

"The Democratic goal is to get out of Iraq. The Republican goal is to win in Iraq," Bush told a rousing rally in a gymnasium at Georgia Southern University.

...

Accused by Democrats of refusing to budge from a stay-the-course policy, Bush insisted his commanders have the flexibility needed to adjust to the enemy's tactics and that the only way not to succeed is "to leave before the job is done."

"If you listen carefully for a Democrat plan for success, they don't have one. Iraq is the central front in the war on terror, yet they don't have a plan for victory," he said.

1. Who knows what the current plan is?
In detail?

Does anybody know?

I don't see how the Dems can do worse here, for they keep calling themselves the "We too" party on war. And given all the other factors afoot (medical care, outsourcing and the rotting of America with no end or balancing out in sight (e.g. leveling the cost of goods and services to match the pay the corporations want to pay us like they have in other countries), people are concerned.)

3. So Doofus??? What's YOUR Plan... Guess We Aren't Staying The Course
anymore... so c'mon man, Give it Up!! You first, you said "bring it on" now I say "spit it out!"

How badly I would love to say so much directly to him, but since he's holding most of "America's" marbles right now, I better shut-up for now!

4. First and foremost, he's lying. The Democrats *do* have a plan.
Too bad he hasn't used "the Google" and searched on the Internets.

Secondly, excuse me, but what the hell is bush's plan? As far as I can tell, he's had 3 years with every available resource and has yet to develop a plan. All I see are deaths, injuries, and my hard-earned tax dollars sucked into the bloody vortex called Iraq.

Withdraw from Iraq and pay the Iraqis $8 billion a month for a year to fix the problem you created, bush. I'm sure they'll come up with a better solution than you ever would.

8. "win-success-victory in Iraq" Yawn
I've grown bored with the "war on" reality

I've grown tired of those who frame Iraq in terms of "win-success-victory"

I refuse to participate in propping up a lie.

Iraq will never - ever - be a "win" for America. Iraq will never - ever - be an American success or victory story. Not one based on the truth anyway.

As I watch the continuing manufacturing of a reality to prop up the lie that America is doing something positive and good and true in Iraq,I marvel at the sheer wonder of it all.

and I am bored

10. Is This Like Nixon's "Secret Plan" to Win the Vietnam War?
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 01:03 PM by AndyTiedye
Nixon's "secret plan" was to NUKE North Vietnam. :nuke:
Fortunately for all of us, he was prevented from implementing that plan.
There were still some grownups around the White House back then.
Sadly, this is no longer the case. :scared:

17. He's like a 6 year old kid
who takes apart the the family grandfather clock. Part strewn all over the floor, springs, tiny wheels, cogs, and tiny screws flying all over the place, who then tries to put it back together. You scold him for taking it apart and then he accuses you of doing something wrong because you can't put it back together.

He's such a dweeb.

I don't want to hear any whining or complaining from ANY RW idiot about how we get out of IraqNam. Its going to be a damned disaster any way you do it, because it is so utterly forked up beyond anyone's imagination

31. If I could draw..
...I'd draw a cartoon.

In it, Bush and Cheney would be sitting in the front seat of a car going over a cliff, in midair, ala Thelma and Louise.

About halfway to the bottom, Bush would be yelling at some prominent Dem sitting in the back seat "ok, so what's YOUR plan".

Hey guess what? The "plan" of letting more and more people die just so you don't have to admit that you are a failure of the first order isn't really a plan either.

You're just playing double or nothing with the lives of our troops. There is nothing to "win" now. It's over.
