US diplomat urges Australia to leave troops in Iraq
A senior member of the Bush administration has urged Australia not to pull its troops out of Iraq.

The United States Assistant Secretary of State, Christopher Hill, says Australian troops are playing an important role in restoring security in the country.

Mr Hill says withdrawing troops would be damaging to the coalition.

The Federal Opposition says if it wins next year's election, Australian troops will be pulled out of Iraq.

1. Dimson's coalition is falling apart, including England. So now the US
citizens are the only ones being held hostage by this madman. Phew!

2. Are you kidding? Howard wants those troops to stay no matter what
There's nothing that Hill could've said that could make Australia WANT to pull the troops out.

3. Australia with never forget the Battle of Gallipoli 1915 and the tremendous
...casulties they incurred under the British command lead by Winston Churchill. I sincerely doubt the Aussies would want to engage in a similar foolishness 91 years later just to satisfy the insane egotistical ravings of the megalomaniac George "Dumb-ya" Bush.

4. As John Howard is Bush's lackey
Australian troops will be in Iraq until at least the end of next year. This appears to be an early warning for the opposition Labor Party just like the US did last time around.
