Clinton suggests Rumsfeld replacement

HARRISON - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has a couple of Republicans in mind as her top choices to replace Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld: James A. Baker and Colin Powell.

Clinton, in a meeting with the Editorial Board of The Journal News, said she doesn't understand why the Bush administration has not replaced Rumsfeld and, when asked to name who should replace him, mentioned the two former Cabinet secretaries.

"Part of what we have to do is to re-establish American credibility," Clinton said, adding that both men have the credentials needed to conduct the "extensive outreach" needed to rebuild the nation's standing in the world

"We need a bipartisan foreign policy and we need as much of a nonpartisan government to implement it as we can," Clinton said.

19. Which is why now that Hillary has suggested it it will NEVER happen
Remember, bush* is a complete idiot, but he is DEATHLY loyal to doing the opposite of what a Clinton says.

Clinton - Terror is gonna be your #1 priority
bush* cabal - Moves terror below prostitutes in New Orleans!

Clinton - Surplus
bush* - need I fill this in?

20. ...
so ... was this a brilliant chessmate move by hillary? did she say what she said intentionally so that the outcome would be just that, the, "it will never happen now that you've said it", reaction by bush? or was that just a fluke?

9. Oh good grief. She couldn't loose that race if she bit the head off a kitten live on prime time
and then announced that she'd just accepted $500,000 from Jack Abramoff to score some hot young boys for Mark Foley. Look up "Safe Seat" in the dictionary and you'll see her picture next to Trent Lott's.

She's 30 points in the lead but she just jacked up the amount of money she's spending on her campaign so she can try to win by an even larger margin. Because Schumer got 71% in 2004 - - a loosing year for Dems - - Hillary can't win with a "measly" 60% in our landslide year. Then all the b.s. about her being poised for a landslide victory in 2008 might actually be questioned in the media.

Watching HRC and others use an uncontested - - or barely contested - - election as an excuse to fund raise for a future seat (which will be contested) has gotten me even more convinced that campaign finance and electoral reform are vitally necessary.

10. She seems to be thinking of who would be palatable to Bush
and less disgusting to the rest of us than Rumsfeld. I think either of those men would be better than who's in there now. Actually, almost anybody would. Except Kissinger, maybe...

26. Baker defended the Saudis against the 9-11 victim's families so that
the terrorist money trail would remain hidden. He works for the Bush Crime Family and their partners, the Saudi Royal Family. Why would this be better than Kissinger?

13. I'm leaning towards Precious the orangutan who was let go from her gig
on NBC's Passions. She would be better than Rummy. Koko the Gorilla is too genteel to touch her hands to "bad, poo-poo stinky man kill, bad, bad" DOD.

14. Why not keep dipping into the FOX News swamp for personnel?
Tony Snow was a great idea... so how about Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly? They both are real warriors with all the answers- and O'Reilly claims he's seen combat, if I'm not mistaken.

And wouldn't William Cohen be a better Republican suggestion???

15. James Baker?
Good gawd what is wrong with that woman? All this time I thought she was bright.

I am surprised she didn't suggest Kissinger or LIEberman as well.. That's surely what we need now, more ways to placate and enable the criminal and traitorous executive branch. Way to go Hillary... you certainly have -my- support in '08

:sarcasm:

17. The Bush Family fixer or a neocon who plays good soldier.
Rummy does not live in the real world, but these two Bushies aren't much
of an improvement. When it really matters, they toe the line, especially
Colin "aluminum tubes" Powell.

18. So Mrs. Clinton, the man who stood before the UN and the rest of the world...
...and willingly gave up every last drop of his credibility is somehow going to restore ours? Personally, and this is only because I've met the man and worked
for him for a brief time when he was Commander, Sixth Fleet, I think Joseph Prueher would do a nice job.

21. scoring a few points
this is politcs 101, getting your name associated with an "open minded and bipartisan" suggestion - two folks that Bush would never name in a million years. Baker is way too old for any "work" kind of shit, and Powell? Give me a break, he drank the kool-aid and then burned his bridges, he's toast.

But somewhere there's a Republican thinking "Hillary said that?" Reminds Repugs of people they think sensible who the Bushies don't listen to. And there's a record of her suggestion when she makes a real decision on someone more pertinent, she can point to being "balanced". Why not gain a little political capital over something that's never gonna happen?

Let's put the criminals who are part of pulling off crime in charge of solving the crime.

Do we agree Hillary needs to go NOW?
