Blackwell also had problem worker (Felon on Payroll)
http://www.dispatch.com/news/news.php?story=dispatch/2006/10/24/20061024-A1-03.html

Blackwell has been running ads criticizing Strickland for hiring a guy that had a misdemeanor offense. Looks like Ken needs to do a bit of research before he hires folks as well.

"GOP gubernatorial nominee J. Kenneth Blackwell, who has questioned the judgment of Democrat Ted Strickland for employing an aide who committed a misdemeanor, once had a felon on his payroll.

As state treasurer, Blackwell unknowingly hired a man with a long record of arrests and kept him on the payroll even after his office discovered the man’s record and brought it to Blackwell’s attention. Under Blackwell, who was treasurer from March 1994 to January 1999, Michael A. Toomer received two pay increases before leaving the treasurer’s office in 2002 and landing in prison for the next four years.

In May 2002, about three months after leaving the treasurer’s office, Toomer was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a girl, beginning in September 1994 when she was 7 and continuing until 2001.

Blackwell said he did not know Toomer was a child molester until yesterday. If he had had any indication that Toomer was abusing a child while an employee of the treasurer’s office, Blackwell said, "He would have been history."

Add this to the growing list of Repuke excuses:
- If only we knew what seat numbers the 9/11 hijackers were in.
- We had no idea the levees could be breached.
- If only we knew in advance that a storm of this magnitude was coming.
- Everyone thought he had WMD.
- If only Clinton had ordered the assassination of OBL.
- If Clinton had done something about the COLE in the two months he remained in office, we wouldn't have had to sit on our asses for 9 additional months.
- I did not have relationships with that lobbyist.
- Dems took money from people who had heard of Jack Abrahamhoff too.
- No one could predict the insurgency.
- Clinton screwed up on North Korea. We're not responsible for our 6 years of inaction.
- The media elites wanted to take down Duke Cunningham.
- I'm going into rehab. I'm an alcoholic.
- I was abused by a priest.
- My staffers should have let me know we had a pedophile in Congress.
- That teenage Page seduced Foley as a prank, probably as some kind of Dem dirty trick.
- I have taken Oxycontin for back pain.
and now my all time favorite from Ken Blackwell

I did not know he was a child molester until yesterday.

How long will it take Blackwell and the Repukes to claim Dems withheld this info for political gain, putting our children at risk?

2. In the Navy we call that "incompetence"
Isn't a leader supposed to know?

Do I want to hire someone to run my state, who doesn't even know what the hell is going on in his office.

It may not sound right, but when the Captain's ship runs aground, it doesn't matter if he was in his rack sleeping, or on the bridge...he's responsible.

You'd think the "so-called" party of personal responsibility would know that

3. Since people who vote for republicans are proud of their own ignorance
It would seem "I don't know" would be quite an asset for a republican candidate.

Just like poor rush and his drug problem, lets all pray for him, so he can get well and get back to hating again.

And how could poor Mr Blackwell know that evil plant by the dems was a child molester.

The gop academy for truth fucking is an incredibly machine indeed.

4. Off Topic
but an old salty Master Chief gave me advice once that I've used over and over again. He said; "son, never use more than three words to say 'I don't know'".

6. Guy used to put a teaspoon of salt in the coffee filter
when he made coffee.

I'd never put cream and sugar in my coffee until I tasted that paint peeling brew.

7. A long, long time ago
When I was a strapping brand new third class petty officer, I recall two first class' arguing over how to do something (I don't recall what but the live show was very memorable.) Our Senior Chief sat quietly for awhile letting the two jaw. Then he looked up over his glasses hanging onto his nose and said "what's the fucking book say?" End of argument. Ahh ya can't beat old fart wisdom.

8. He may not have known about molestation
But he sure as hell knew he was a crackhead.
Worse than that, when his human resources dept. alerted him there was an anti family-values employee in his midst, he doesn't fire the guy...He gives him a pay raise...and then another pay raise.

Then has the gall to blame the DEM.

Just watch the TV news cover for him...

Let us know if you hear one word about this on the TV that is not part of a Dem paid commercial.

on his payroll.

Those damn DEMS! When are they going to stop putting our children in danger and coddling criminals?

:sarcasm:
