4. it is a Black man using the word HOS

....No one can criticize the GOP for failing to produce sophisticated propaganda that successfully exploits the hopes and fears of white middle Americans. But can the right-wing distraction factory woo minorities with the same techniques? Check out the following transcript of a new Republican ad targeting black voters in 10 battleground states this year and you be the judge:

BLACK MAN #1: "If you make a little mistake with one of your 'hos,' you'll want to dispose of that problem tout suite, no questions asked."

BLACK MAN #2: "That's too cold. I don't snuff my own seed."

BLACK MAN #1: "Maybe you do have a reason to vote Republican."

This ad was financed by J. Patrick Rooney, a white billionaire notorious for funding several misleading anti-Kerry ads that ran on urban radio stations in 2004. The money for Rooney's newest ad flowed through a little-known group called America's PAC, which was founded by Richard Nadler, a veteran Republican consultant who pushed Intelligent Design in Kansas public schools, declaring, "Darwin is bunk."

12. OMG...
...the only thing that ad is lacking is the "N" word!!!!

:wow:

I didn't think anything the Repukes could do or say would shock me anymore, but...I certainly was wrong. I cannot believe that anyone is that out of touch. I am simply stunned. I guess as much as I find them to be bottom feeders, I thought more of them than they think of themselves.

I am wondering if they plan on using "black face" in the next ad!?!?!

:puke:

5. Does this come as a surprise to anyone?
The only people who don't seem to know the GOP is racist are the small handful of black republicans.

The GOP supports supressing the black vote.
The GOP is against stiffer penalties for hate crimes.
The GOP supports rolling back civil rights for minorities.
The GOP supports genocide in Rwanda and Darfur.
The GOP supports death penalties for black murderers.

If the GOP were any more racist, they'd be carrying around white robes in their trunks.

22. What makes you think they don't already?
I'll bet the guy who made this ad plans to go nightriding on Election night and burn crosses in black neighborhoods to intimidate them into not voting

7. Funded by J. Patrick Rooney
This scumbag ran for office here in Indiana and a swear his ads reminded me of when Monty Burns of "The Simpson's" ran for Governor. He was JUST THAT CREEPY!

24. Followed the links, not hard, but still didn't hear the actual ad.
Unfortunately, there have been false trails on DU before. I still need to see the actual thing. The rethugs are disgusting enough left to their own devices. We don't need to fly off on things not proven. Do we have a link to the actual ad?

14. are you sure its not just another typical and usual rap music video where
black men debase themselves and their own women and culture for profit generated by peddling this stuff to kids?

based on a lot of rap music I have heard this sort of thing is the norm, expected, common, ordinary and not an abberation.

15. PLEASE JOIN ME
in e-mailing Oprah Winfrey so that she can air this out fully and tell the GOP that African-Americans should not be Willie Hortonized again in the name of right wing politics.

20. What ARE you trying to communicate? This is a political ad.
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 11:37 AM by Judi Lynn
The financier, J. Patrick Rooney, is well known, unfortunately. The man who founded and runs the PAC which produced the ad, Rich Nadler, is a successful Republican hate merchant who lives in Overland Park, Kansas, who has a nasty string of right-wing success under his huge belt.

25. No.
This is racist satire of black people by white people who think that rap music is all about debasing hos and shooting white people.

Oh, the irony.

18. The guy who produced this ad...
claims to have been elected to the board of an all-black church over "other black people".

In response, Putney Swope asks:

What "Black Church" does J. Patrick Rooney attend?? Does anyone know? I would like to visit this church, before the election.

19. And the GOP is expecting to attract the black vote...how?
If I were a black man, I'd be offended at the stereotype that black men refer to their women as "hos;" and if I were a black woman, I'd be offended at being referred to as a "ho." Am I missing something here?

This looks like a "lose-lose" scenario for the GOP...
