$1 million for arrest of American al Qaeda charged with treason
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- An American al Qaeda propagandist was indicted Wednesday on treason charges, the first person charged with the offense during the United States' war on terrorism, officials said.

Adam Yahiye Gadahn, who has appeared in five al Qaeda videos, is also charged with offering material support for terrorism, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty said.

He has been put on the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorists list, and the State Department is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

The 28-year-old California native is the first American to face the charge since the World War II era, McNulty said.(more....)

3. What's the reward for Omar or Osama?
Edited on Thu Oct-12-06 11:37 AM by Alpharetta
Wasn't that a $1 Million reward too?

No, wait, that was what Bruce Willis offered for Osama. I think the US offered $25 Million for Omar or Osama.

I wonder if the CIA can manufacture an online media personality, charge him with treason, offer a reward for this fictitious person's capture, and then publish the good news that he's been captured. That's a cheap little program, plus it gets a million dollars off the books.

4. So this is freedom of speech???
He must have done something for al Qaeda. What, no one knows. He is just wanted because he expressed himself. I don't agree what he said, it may be dispicable, but damnit he is not a proven spy for bin Lauden and now he is arrested simply because he said something. He carried out no violence himself. Where is this country going?
