Continental Flight 2772 heading from Cincinnati to Newark, New Jersey has been diverted to Cleveland Hopkins Airport after a passenger on board reported a bomb threat.

Cleveland Hopkins Commissioner Fred Szabo tells Fox 8 News one of the flight's 16 passengers told the flight crews he was carrying a bomb, shortly after that time the plane was grounded at Hopkins.

The Plane landed at Hopkins at 9 p.m.

Cleveland Police tell Fox 8 News the plane is a passenger jet that seats 50 people.

According to officials at the Cleveland Fire Department the bomb squad and k9 units are on the scene.

At this time, Airport Officials confirm that the flight, with 17 people on board, has been diverted due to an alleged bomb threat.

The plane landed at 9:02pm. The plane has been surrounded by fire officials, police, SWAT, and the bomb squad.

Officials are unable to release any more details.

I'm not typically a cynical person (OK, I am, but that's beside the point), but I think we need to be very observant and diligent from now until the election. The wing-nuts have polarized this nation and our politics to the point that some on the right would do anything to win. If they feel that pushing the terrorist threat level to "Code RED" will help God's appointed leaders stay in power, it could get "ugly".

Remember, Timothy McVeigh was a "white, male wingnut"-with a copy of Rush Limbaugh's book on the front seat of his car. Some on the right are certifiably insane. Best to keep our heads on a swivel.

Man Who Made Bomb Threat May Face Federal Charges

CLEVELAND -- A passenger who made a bomb threat aboard a Continental flight out of Cincinnati may face federal charges, NewsChannel5 reported.

John Azzinaro, 37, of Oak Ridge N.J., allegedly told a passenger that there was a bomb on the flight.

The flight was then diverted to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport at about 9 p.m. Monday. The flight was heading to Newark.

Cleveland police Lt. Thomas Stacho said he was detained at the airport for questioning.

There were about three crew members aboard the pland and 15 passengers. No one was injured.
