Bush Admin To Host Conference On School Violence

(AP) RENO, Nev. The Bush administration will host a conference next week to discuss the recent string of school violence across the country, the White House said Monday.

Presidential spokeswoman Dana Perino said the conference will bring together education and law enforcement officials to talk about the nature of the problem and federal action that can help communities prevent violence and deal with its aftermath.

"The president is deeply saddened and troubled by the recent school violence and shootings that have taken place in different communities across America," Perino said. "It breaks America's collective heart when innocent children who are at school to learn are violently taken hostage and cut down in their own schools."

Perino said the conference was still in the planning stages, so a specific date, location and other details were not ready to be announced. It was not clear whether President Bush would attend.

The very same folks who decry the violence are the same individuals perpetrating violence the world over.

5. Will they admit how Raygun gleefully dismantled mental health programs?
And threw all the patients into the streets?

And how millions of Americans have no access to mental health care because they have no insurance? And that even those WITH insurance often have very little health care benefits?

Didn't think so. I'm sure their conference will be replete with information our 'declining moral values' though.

Disgusting pigs. Every single last one.

10. Just like the Waco conference licked the economy into shape
Remember George's big Waco summit? Ran the gamut of economic philosophy from A to A, it did. And although George couldn't be bothered to sit in on the whole day's worth of meetings, he promised, cross-his-heart-and-hope-to-die that he would read over the transcripts of what happened, and come up with a whole economic program of innovative ideas like, uh, cutting taxes on him and his friends.

I imagine this "conference" will be more of the same, with experts ranging from frothing-at-the-mouth-lock-all-the-little-bastards-up types to wild-eyed-lock-all-the-little-bastards-up types. Out of this, George will ignore everything except what he wants to do, if anything.

By the way, does the Lancaster County shooting qualify as a terrorist attack? Just asking.

17. Bush Organizing School Violence Summit
RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Bush administration, alarmed by recent attacks at public schools across the country, is bringing education and law enforcement experts together for a conference on coming to grips with the problem.

The goal would be to discuss the nature of the problem and federal action that can help communities prevent violence and deal with its aftermath, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino told reporters as President Bush made a campaign tour here Monday.

Three schools have been hit by deadly attacks in the past week. A gunman killed himself and five girls Monday at a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania; on Friday a 15-year-old Wisconsin student shot and killed his principal; and last Wednesday a man took six girls hostage in Colorado, sexually assaulting them before fatally shooting one girl and killing himself.

"The president is deeply saddened and troubled by the recent school violence and shootings that have taken place in different communities across America," Perino said. "It breaks America's collective heart when innocent children who are at school to learn are violently taken hostage and cut down in their own schools."

20. HYPOCRITS
Now they will posture and strut and show everyone how they will protect the children - liars and scumbags - They cut the funding for school violence, let no one forget that

and in addition - the violence in this country simply reflects the violence our so called "leaders" project - attacking innocent countries and killing thousands of people for no good reason; torturing people at will; stealing other countries resources; bullying the world, our way or the highway or else we will nuke you

WHAT THE HELL DO WE EXPECT? WE ARE THE VIOLENT BULLIES OF THE WORLD, OUR DERANGED CITIZENS TAKE THEIR CUE FROM THE SICKOS IN THE WHITE HOUSE

22. He can start by restoring all the cuts to school security he made
http://www.cnn.com/2006/EDUCATION/10/02/schoolsafety.funding.ap/

Since 2001, federal funding for a grant program that helps U.S. schools pay for programs to prevent substance abuse and violence has declined significantly.

Funding was $439.2 million in 2001 but has fallen to $346.5 million this year, with $310 million recommended for 2007.

A few years ago one of our fine legislators introduced a bill to allow teachers to wear handguns in the classroom. In this bizarro world, I fully expect that more guns will be the answer suggested.
