Candidates give Foley contributions to charity
WASHINGTON --Sen. George Allen and Rep. Heather Wilson, two Republicans in tight re-election contests, plan to donate to charities the contributions they received from Mark Foley, the former congressman ensnared in an e-mail sex scandal.

In Connecticut's 5th District, Republican U.S. Rep. Nancy Johnson said she would return $1,000 that Foley's campaign donated to her re-election bid in December. She is running against Democrat Chris Murphy.

The National Republican Congressional Committee, which has received $550,000 from Foley since 1996, will keep its money, committee spokesman Carl Forti said.

...

Virginia's Allen plans to give the $2,000 his campaign received from Foley last year. Wilson of New Mexico will donate $8,000 she received between 1998 and 2002.

8. Even if the charity does not turn out to be them
You can bet your butt that they will later show the contribution and claim that they are sensitive to that issue.

its a win win situation for them.

pervo gives them money to spend on their campaign.
they spend pervo's money shoring up their image to some large charity that hopefully people will appreciate enough to vote for them.
The money is still being used to further their career.

now if they really want to impress me, lets see them contribute it to a lawyer that will try and put the perv behind bars where he belongs. Oh, after he gives a DNA sample for future use.

10. Time to kick up a major fuss over this:
"The National Republican Congressional Committee, which has received $550,000 from Foley since 1996, will keep its money....."

Start screaming bloody murder over this to the media. Make them give every penny of it to charity. Preferably a charity that helps sexually abused youth.
