Idi Amin Is Dead
The former Ugandan President Idi Amin Dada is dead.

Radio Simba has learnt that the former President who has been in a coma finally succumbed to hypertension on Sunday.

Family sources told Radio Simba that one of his wives Madina Amin was due to fly to Jedda on Monday to attend to him.

The family of the Ex-President Idd Amin is still pleading with the government to allow them fly the body of the former Ugandan leader.

It isn’t yet clear whether his body will be flown back for a decent burial.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

10. ...whether his body will be flown back for a decent burial.
"Decent" being a subjective term, I guess if it were a nice porta-potty it would suffice.

Another benchmark of the human capacity for evil bites the dust. Well... perhaps he wasn't evil but was simply confused...

25. Idi Amin Dada
was the spiritual father of the current garbage named G(od's)W(aste)Bush. I hope he rots in a hell of interminable, unbearable introspection and that the faces of all those he murdered are indelibly etched upon his shrivelled bugger of a soul. This is one death that definitely won't diminish humanity by one iota. I don't have enough bile for this dead detritus; saving it up for the current pretender...Fuck You Idi Amin Dada!!!

I remember when that butcher turned his troops loose on the University of Uganda when the students were protesting and speaking out for human rights. They killed the young men and raped the coeds.

There's a special place in hell for you, Idi...

Idi Amin fights for life

Former Ugandan leader Idi Amin - whose 1971 to 1979 regime was one of the bloodiest in African history - is reported to be in a coma.
"They have told me he is in coma and on a life support machine. We are still waiting for more information from there," one of his wives Madina Amin told AFP news agency.
He is said to have been admitted to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah on Friday.
"His situation is very bad, we don't expect him to last until tomorrow," the Associated Press news agency quoted an unnamed hospital as saying.

They don't have him as dead yet, but it adds credence to the story in the root post.

21. The compassion of the DU is never more evident than when
people die. Yes the man was evil. Yes the world is better off without him. No I will not dance on his grave.

I have seen some of the most vile things said about people after they pass in this forum. I will never forget the spew that was posted on Reagan's birthday....before it has pull in shame.

As with all sinners....I will pray for his soul.

37. According to all credible links, he is alive
The Beeb links says he's in a coma, not dead.

I for one am not surprised that all political perspectives in the West view this as a good thing--his coma, not his lingering on.

I watched IDI AMIN DADA on Criterion last night. Loved his enlightened and psychotic concern to unite with "all true revolutionaries" and defeat Israel. His mock battles were a hoot. Idi Amin is (not was) an ass. So are many of his contemporaneous allies.
