Bush to hold news conference at 10 am EDT/1400 GMT

WASHINGTON, Aug 21 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. EDT (1400 GMT) on Monday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

Bush, who spent last week conferring with his foreign policy, national security and counterterrorism teams, is certain to face questions about the fragile truce between Israel and Hizbollah in southern Lebanon as well as the situation in Iraq.

2. With real live questions?
His poll numbers must be bad or something.

I do wish the reporters would ask substantive questions and demand real answers.

3. Why?
Is he going to say something different this time?

Or is he going to give himself a medal for spreading freedom all over the face of the globe?

4. No rhyme or reason to these things being called
I hate how he calls 'em with like a hour warning. Does he just call a news conference when he's feeling particularly 'on'? Is it a power trip for him? What gives?

13. NASA Announces Dark Matter Discovery
Astronomers who used NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory will host a media
teleconference at 1 p.m. EDT Monday, Aug. 21, to announce how dark and
normal matter have been forced apart in an extraordinarily energetic collision.

http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2006/aug/HQ_M06128_dark...

Gravity wave is the ultimate source of space and time travel.
Scientists all around the world are chasing the gravity wave
phenomenon and invisible dark matter presence to derive the
ultimate source of space travel and perhaps time travel.

Edited on Mon Aug-21-06 08:53 AM by HuffleClaw
should be a real dog & pony show if this thing is about iran. i'm wondering how many lies he'll tell about iran. will he attempt to link them to al qaeda? i wonder if he'll resurrrect the WMD boogeyman too. i'm sure we'll hear bush repeat the infamous misquote about iran wanting to 'wipe israel off the map' too.

on edit: and lest i forget, the latest bit, 'the terrorists will follow us home!'

31. "A failed Iraq will threaten the security of the United States.."
Interesting debate in America about how we ought to handle iraq. Some say, withdraw now, and I say that's a HUGE mistake.

Q: ISn't Tehran's influence in the region growing despite your efforts to curtail it?

B: What's interesting is that violence in the Middle East are all groups of terrrorist who are trying to stop the advance of Democracy. They are trying to thwart the will of millions who want a normal life.

Iran is obviously part of the problem. They sponsor Hezbollah. The incourage a radical brand of Islam. Imagine how difficult this issue would be if Iran had a nuclear weapon.

I will continue to remind our friends and allies of a nukular armed Iraq (he meant to say Iran, I think)

I clearly see the challenge that these threats pose to the homeland and I clearly see the challenge that these threats pose to the world.
