US warns of India terror attacks

The US has warned of possible terror attacks in India in the coming days.

The US embassy in India said they could take place in Delhi and Mumbai
in the run-up to the country's Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday.

The embassy said it had information that foreign terrorists allegedly
intended to carry out bomb attacks around the cities.

American citizens in Delhi are being advised by the embassy to "maintain
a low profile, be alert and attentive to their surroundings".

2. Aren't a lot of the call centers in Bangalore?
I just hope they don't do anything in the Basti area of Dehli. There are many Sufi shrines and places of pilgrimage there.

6. No, those wouldn't be either.
No attacks upon religion are acceptable. Sura 2:255 states that there is no compulsion in religion.

Peace.

20. No, that would be terrible as well
If you were familiar with the teachings of Pir-o-Murshid Haz. Inayat Khan, you would know that he and those of his order believe all paths lead to God. I have honored Hindu temples here in the states, and when my husband was in India on pilgrimage to Sufi shrines, he also visited temples and spent several days at Ananda Ashram, where the Sufis and Hindus chanted together. All is God....Om shanti shanti shanti

23. Sorry,
my thoughts, with love, were upon my Murshid (teacher), and the devotion might be considered like that of a Catholic to a saint's shrine.

19. Hello!
No, I didn't watch that film. But my husband retains fond memories of Bangalore. He was able to go on a pilgrimage to visit Sufi shrines in India and part of the tour included Bangalore.

22. you don't have cable tv do you? it's a series called "30 days "
created my morgan spurlock (the guy who did supersize me). last week he had an american man whose job was outsourced go to india for 30 days and live with a family who were doing the "Outsourced Jobs". it was just incredible -- the beautiful new buildings and then slums -- quite amazing how some people live there. the guy came back with the attitude that they needed the job more than him. the other night he had an atheist move in with a christian family for 30 days. it's on FX on wednesday nights. started last year. in fact, last year he had a christian live with a muslim family for 30 days. everyone always learns from the other side. really good viewing.

7. Interesting.
In a perverse and thoroughly dissatisfying way, it makes logical sense. Pakistan has proudly claimed a role in the foiling of this latest http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oplan_Bojinka">Bojinka attempt. The terrorists will want to get back at Pakistan.

And what better way to do that than to whack India? The trouble that Pakistani radicals caused in India in 2002 probably took the world closer to a second nuclear war than at any time during the Cold War.

Amazing...here's a government trying not to make political hay out of terror...

Govt downplays US advisory on terror attacks

NEW DELHI: The government on Friday described as "very innocuous" the US Embassy advisory on possible Al-Qaida attacks in the national capital and Mumbai but refrained from commenting on the presence of foreign terrorists in the country.

"It is normal for a mission to issue advisories whenever they have information. We too do the same thing. They do their security bandobast based on that. It is a very innocuous advisory," Union Home Secretary V K Duggal told a press conference.

He was commenting on a warning issued by the US Embassy here that Al-Qaida and other foreign terrorist groups may carry out attacks here and in Mumbai ahead of or during the Independence Day...
