Down To The Wire For Lieberman, Lamont
Conn. Polls Open As Incumbent Senator And Anti-War Opponent Make Final Pitches

HARTFORD, Conn. , Aug. 8, 2006

(CBS/AP) Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman was locked in a battle with a political novice fueled by anti-war sentiment in the nation's most closely watched primary race Tuesday.

snip: Jack Ellovich said he voted for Lieberman, citing the three-term senator's experience.

"He's already got the standing in the Senate," said Ellovich, after casting his vote at a downtown Hartford precinct. "I think he can get stuff done for Connecticut and I don't think Lamont really knows how the system works."

Others, however, say they were swayed by the 2000 vice presidential candidate's support for the Iraq war, saying he is too close to Republicans and President Bush.

for the republicans....if one believes the idiot Ellovich's way, there should NEVER be any new blood in the Senate?

It doesn't take long for a smart person to learn the ropes...and Ned Lamont IS a smart, dedicated person...I'm sure of that!!

TIME TO GET RID OF FUCKING REPUBLICANS OUT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY! NOW!!

3. No No No, don't you know we have to ALWAYS pick an incumbent
first. Because they know what's going on! Nevermind the fact that most incumbents are probably corrupt, they know how the system works! If they know how the system works, you must elect them! PERIOD! In fact, we should get rid of terms... all officials should be elected and forced to serve until they die.
