BEIRUT, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah said on Monday that the Arab foreign ministers gave their unequivocal backing to the Lebanese government's seven-point plan to end the conflict with Israel.
Speaking to Kuna and Kuwait TV, he described the meeting as "very important".
The meeting he said further "reflects the absolute Arab support for Lebanon and for the calls by its people for extending support" adding that "the government's plan was adopted in full" to end the crisis.
The opening speech delivered by Prime Minister Fuad Al-Siniora was "impressive and mirrored the sufferings of the Lebanese people and created a feeling conducive to working for support of Lebanon and its people." Sheikh Mohammad stated that the "Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa and the foreign ministers of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates" will try to push through the proposed Lebanese amendments to a draft U.N. resolution seeking to end violence. The delegation would leave shortly for UN in New York.

The premier, speaking at a news conference after conclusion of the Arab ministerial meeting, said there was breakthough with regard of basic issues and "as to Syria's view on presence of United Nations forces in the Shebaa Farms, they have no objection "They also have no objection to seven-point plan that has been adopted by the Lebanese Government." He affirmed Syria's strong backing for the Lebanese government during the current strife with Israel.
