Anti-Defamation League accepts Gibson's apology
http://www.kron4.com/Global/story.asp?S=5225115

NEW YORK The Anti-Defamation League has accepted Mel Gibson's second apology, saying it "sounds sincere."

Gibson is now admitting he made anti-Semitic remarks during a drunken driving arrest, something he didn't admit before. He says they were "vitriolic and harmful words."

A-D-L national director Abraham Foxman says this is the apology the group had hoped for the first time.

Gibson is asking Jewish leaders to help him find the "appropriate path for healing." Foxman says once Gibson finishes "his rehabilitation for alcohol abuse," the A-D-L will "help him with his second rehabilitation to combat this disease of prejudice."

3. Tell me, Sammy, what groups do YOU think have a "backbone"?
We already know you support the JDL, so that's one. Any others?

7. Does Kahane fit that description in your opinion? I was reading a little..
...about him on Wikipedia but didn't get too far. I recall there was some political dust-up in Israel over his party a while ago...

6. Much easier to him than the Palestinian rights activists
and people like Norman Finklestein and Noam Chomsky.

It makes you wonder...

14. I've been saying that part about picking sides for years.
In the Israeli/Palestinian fight, neither side is right to use the violence to settle their differences. What they need is a MLK, Jr. type leader to teach them the meaning of integration. After all, we all live on this planet together.

15. Thans Zonkers - Easy To be Hard
How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold

How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no

And especially people
Who care about strangers
Who care about evil
And social injustice
Do you only
Care about the bleeding crowd?
How about a needing friend?
I need a friend

How can people be so heartless
You know I'm hung up on you
Easy to give in
Easy to help out

And especially people
Who care about strangers
Who say they care about social injustice
Do you only
Care about the bleeding crowd
How about a needing friend?
I need a friend

How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no

18. Agreed

So few people even apologize anymore too. So when someone does, we should all do our best to forgive and forget.

22. Exactly what I knew they would do...
For all we know Gibson hit a rock bottom moment...many people do. As the ADL said his apology sounded sincere, and not only did he want to work on his alcoholism, but perhaps on his prejudice as well. Absent any other information I think he should be taken at his word, people should get off his back, and see if he follows through with what he says he wants to do..

If the ADL can accept his apology, I think everyone else should too.
