U.S. Soldiers Injured, Germany To Cut Afghanistan Troops
Five American troops were injured Saturday, July 19, in two separate attacks on U.S. troops in the war-scarred country, as Germany decided to cut the number of its troops serving in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan by one-third.

Two coalition soldiers and one Afghan Military Forces soldier were wounded when their patrol was ambushed north of Orgun (in southeastern Afghanistan 's Paktika province) about 11:00 am (Saturday)," Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported according to a statement released by the U.S. military.

"The wounded soldiers were evacuated to Forward Operating Base Salerno near Khost," it said. "They are in stable condition and are being moved to the U.S. Army hospital at Bagram (40 kilometers or 25 miles north of Kabul )."

3. No
Canada is taking over ISAF command. Thus 800 German soldiers are relieved by Canadian troops.

4. Thanks for the info
Afghanistan NEEDS security forces. They're begging us.

I'm glad to hear it's not a pull-out by Germany. (I'll take your word that's what the German article says!)

2. one day we're going to wake up and find US evacuating
Daily Times is reporting 16 dead US in Afghanistan
See-Buzzflash.com

I don't know how accurate this is, but I know the
World will believe this before the
NYT,WSJ,or WP.

We're bleeding blood and treasure, we're the world's
largest debtor (we need $2B/day of foreign input).
We're spending $1B/week in Iraq alone.
$1B per year would fix Arkansas's schools.
-an aside-expect federal troops in AR next year
to enforce Courts ruling Jan1.

The center cannot hold.
