Cheney Sees GOP Winning Midterm Elections
Dick Cheney says Republicans will prevail in midterm elections because of strong economy

(AP) Vice President Dick Cheney said Thursday that the Republicans will prevail in the midterm elections because of a strong economy and the ability of the Bush administration to prevent another terrorist attack.

Polls show voters favor Democrats taking charge in November, but Cheney said the GOP will maintain its majority control in the Senate and House. He cited an economy that's "kicking along in very good shape" and President Bush's record in the war on terror.

"And we protected the United States against further attack from the terrorists," Cheney said in an interview on Sean Hannity's radio show. "You can't guarantee there won't be further attacks, but I think the track record is remarkable."

At his news conference Wednesday, Bush also predicted Republican victories in November, saying the GOP "philosophy is one that is forward-looking and optimistic and has worked."

Dead-Eye Dick Cheney must have faith in electronic voting machines and the ability to electronically re-arrange election results better than Fulgencio Batista and Ferdinand Marcos could at their most flagrant and corrupt.

FOX News Poll: Dems Hold Double-Digit Lead in Congressional Vote

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2340569

NEW YORK — If the Congressional elections were held today, voters say they would back the Democratic candidate over the Republican by 46 percent to 33 percent. Furthermore, if Democrats win control of Congress, most voters say it would make a difference to their life, according to the latest FOX News national registered voter poll.

Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from June 13 to June 14. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

If the election were today, not surprisingly most Democrats (89 percent) say they would vote for their party’s candidate, as do most Republicans (85 percent). Independents, the voting group that politicos and pundits like to watch, are twice as likely to give their support to the Democrat (31 percent) as the Republican (15 percent).

Rave on, madman!

Bushevik Victory every time.

I wonder if they are going to run with a new plot in 2008 on "Election" Eve or will they do the now stale reality show "oh my god they are going to win but OH NO what a surprise they lose!" for a third time.

I can hardly wait.

37. If that poll is accurate, it's actually bad news for us.
Democrats need nearly a 20 point advantage to insure a good outcome in November. The Repugs have the inertia of incumbency working for them and better voter turnout.

Sadly, as of today, I think Dickhead is correct. The Repugs will barely hold on to congress, but they will hold on.

52. Where do you get the idea they have "better voter turnout"?
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 06:10 AM by Peace Patriot
From Karl's and Dick's "invisible" get-out-the-vote campaign "explanation" for their 2004 "election"? No evidence for it. None. On the contrary, the Dems blew the Repubs away in new voter registration in 2004, nearly 60/40. People were flocking to the Democratic Party to oust Bush. You think they didn't vote? 20 million more people voted in 2004 than in 2000. Do the math. We had better turnout, and they lost. So says the real exit polls. So says everything other statistic and indicator that can be assembled in highly non-transparent (Diebold/ES&S "trade secret," proprietary vote tabulation programming code) conditions.

I agree with your other statement, though--we need big turnout to beat the machines--but I would put it lower than 20%. I think they're putting a 5% to 10% "thumb on the scales" for Bushites and warmongers. So, we need anywhere from 5% to 15% better turnout, depending on circumstances.

Bumper sticker: "Help US Beat the Machines--VOTE!"

Got to involve people. Tell them the truth! Got to proceed on the basis of truth. No more lies! And tell them, if they lose, to throw Diebold and ES&S election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW!

Believe in democracy. Believe in the people. Make it work. Americans are not 'sheeple.' They're far better informed than anyone gives them credit for--but the fraudulent election system has been utterly blackholed as a news story and as a Dem Party priority, so it's hard for people to know that a very specific mechanism of fascist control is now being used--direct fascist control over the vote tabulation--and that it CAN BE CHANGED.

20. Senate just voted by a large majority--93-6 to NOT pull out of Iraq
It is official. We WANT to continue to support George Bush and his "resolve".

Even if today we reached the 2,500 number of American troops dead.

Yea--gotta get that embassy built and goota hand over billions of dollars of war profits to the corporations. Human life means nothing, when it comes to making a huge profit.

Where do we go from here? Polls show Americans disenchanted with the so falsely called "war" in Iraq. What voters will see is virtually NO DIFFERENCE once more, between the two parties.

Yea, get your war on. Let the killing continue.

44. Did you ever wonder why we have not had another attack?
It's because there is absolutely no reason for any terrorist organization to attack us. The "terrorists" have already won the war against America. So far, we've spent about $320 billion in Iraq, bringing the country to the brink of bankruptcy. America has lost credibility throughout the world. Americans have lost liberty, freedom and democracy in this phoney war on terra. And we've lost 2500 young Americans and have suffered about 18,000 wounded brave soldiers.

So why in the world would any terrorist organization waste time, money or manpower on another attack on America? They've already won. I wish somebody would tell that fucking asshole cheney that he and his crime syndicate have indeed helped the terrorists accomplish their mission to destroy America.

Ah shit, I'll bet he already knows that.

28. Now this is interesting: compare the two headlines.
This one, posted here...

"Cheney Sees GOP Winning Midterm Elections"

...and this other, just posted at DU also:

"FOX News Poll: Dems Hold Double-Digit Lead in Congressional Vote"

"NEW YORK — If the Congressional elections were held today, voters say they would back the Democratic candidate over the Republican by 46 percent to 33 percent. Furthermore, if Democrats win control of Congress, most voters say it would make a difference to their life, according to the latest FOX News national registered voter poll...."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2340569

---------------------------

Is the Cheshire cat grinning because he knows how successful the Diebold/ES&S coup has been? I mean, Bushite corporations tabulating all the votes with 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code, and virtually no audit/recount controls, on extremely insecure, hackable voting systems all over the country, even in California. And torture memo writer Alberto Gonzales bullying New York and Pennsylvania to join the junta voting system. And Ion Sancho bullied and threatened in Florida, by Diebold, ES&S, and Sequoia, in a truly brilliant corporate conspiracy. And Kevin Shelley gotten rid of in California. And the stupid American people and their corrupt so-called "opposition" party not even noticing; raising barely a hair objection. It's just too beautiful! So much good news, all over the country, as non-transparent, unverifiable vote counting is installed everywhere--touch of the button vote rigging, or nearly so. A cat doesn't even have to travel or shovel out cash anymore. He can just sit back and realize dreams of infinite power, and grin and grin and grin...
