US troops trapped in barracks as protesters reheat Cold War
YANKEE go home!” the protesters’ signs read outside the military compound. Inside, about 200 US Marine reservists are confined to their quarters, unable even to visit the local shop.

Nothing unusual, perhaps, by the standards of Iraq or Afghanistan, but this was the scene yesterday in the southern Ukrainian region of Crimea, more than 18 months after the Orange Revolution supposedly set Ukraine on the path towards Nato membership.

1. Thank you George Bush.
What a difference from 9/11, when the entire world was on our side. Could Dimson have done a better job of turning the world against us?

2. It sure helps the proffit margins of 'defense' contractors when the US
has to 'go it alone.'

3. This is an incredible article, very underestimated.
Someone posted this on Daily Kos. There were maybe 150 posts under the thread, and there was a lot of good backup information on this development.

The implications here are immense for the US. It appears that the US is becoming repelled all over the world, like a case of fleas on the family pet. This is not just in Crimea, but people are starting to take a very close look at US military installations all over the world. We were just evicted out of Uzbekistan for not paying our rent.

It could be a disaster for Bush.

4. The US is as much a pariah as the Khmer Rouge or the Third Reich
The American empire is crumbling and the end will not be pleasant.

5. there is no hiding place for "The Ugly American"
Dimson has insisted that he and his cabal have a mandate - I guess it is to show just exactly how ugly they are. It's a shame that all our names are dragged through the mud by everything this crapweasel does.
