Iraq families' quest to meet PM Blair
26 April 2006

"All we want to do is to tell Tony Blair what we think which is he should bring the lads home - they need to be with their families. They don't need to be shot at in Iraq."

<snip>

Relatives at the demonstration, organised by Military Families Against The War, have come for a number of different reasons.

They have come to remember their loved ones and, more importantly, to make sure they are not forgotten.

They have come to lay flowers and wreaths at the Cenotaph.

But they say the main reason they have gathered is to put pressure on Prime Minister Tony Blair to speak to them in person.

Seems England now has their own group of Cindy's and Blair is proving to be as big of a wimp as Bush.

2. A dead soldier's father stood against Blair in last year's election.
Because of our Parliamentary system, Blair had to be elected for a constituency in the same manner as the other 645 members of the House of Commons. One of the other candidates was an independent standing to raise the profile of our war dead in Iraq.
