War game will focus on situation with Iran

WASHINGTON — Amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran over the future of Iran's nuclear program, the Pentagon is planning a war game in July so officials can explore options for a crisis involving Iran.

The July 18 exercise at National Defense University's National Strategic Gaming Center will include members of Congress and top officials from military and civilian agencies. It was scheduled in August, before the latest escalation in the conflict, university spokesman Dave Thomas said.

It's the latest example of how otherwise routine operations are helping the United States prepare for a possible military confrontation with Iran. On Tuesday, President Bush refused to rule out military action — even a nuclear strike — to stop Iran's nuclear program.

...

The July exercise may have real-world consequences since Iran could interpret it as evidence the United States plans to attack, said Khalid al-Rodhan, an Iran expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

2. "the situation with Iran," "a crisis involving Iran...."
The propaganda machine is cranking up. We have always been at war with East Asia.

3. What's the game?
We drop a nuke on something. We "win". Game over.

4. Nope, cant use a nuke. Will need to use airstrikes and ground assault.
The Pentagon leak to Hersch made it clear that the Pentagon would REBEL before it would go along with a nuclear strike.

Look for a Rambo style operation with Faux News coverage and air strikes in August or September around 9-11. The strikes will target something which we will be told was an nuclear weapons manufacturing site. Odds are good that the team will have a bad outcome, and the W.'s poll numbers will actually fall.

8. It's rigged
Everything will of course be in favor of US forces and they will win, and the people of Iran will cover the occupiers with "flowers and candy."

9. You know the US already had a huge major war game
which featured Iran as the Enemy (red) a few years back. I don't know if I can mention the name.

10. Remember the mock war games they ran against Iraq before the war?
We lost those too. We had to cheat to get the result we wanted. Iraq doesn't even have a military.

11. I think the phrase RANK stupidity was coined about these jokers
anyone with half a brain would be able to resolve this diplomatically before the military would become involved. I hope that there are some half intelligent congressmen get to 'play' President, V.P. and Secretary for State. They should have it in the bag in a few hours with no nukes and no gunplay involved.
