Democrats say they will run on national security issues

WASHINGTON - Democratic U.S. senators say their party's challengers in Arizona, Ohio and Pennsylvania will campaign on national security issues and tie Republican incumbents closely to President Bush.

Senator Chuck Schumer is the head of the Democrats' Senate campaign committee.

He says Bush and the Republicans are weak enough in the polls that they won't be able to campaign as effectively on national security as they did in 2002 and 2004.

Schumer says a number of events such as the war in Iraq have given Democrats an opening because the public now has doubts about the Bush administration's competence.

1. Republicans are destroying our military
and destroying our economy. Thanks to the grand old party China will not have to work very hard to take us down. They are patiently waiting and most likely funneling money to republicans in congress. Republicans have absolutely nothing to run on unless you like tax cuts for millionaires.

6. Terrorism and working with other countries is important
but you are right, if they ignore the issues that affect most people, then we are screwed

5. That is important, but it is far from the ONLY issue they should run on
we should also bring up social security, a medicare drug plan, an energy plan, offshoring of jobs, environmental issues, the economy, and so much more...

9. It's about damn time
I also love this part: "...tie Republican incumbents closely to President Bush." It's about damn time for that too. Those GOP legislators didn't mind being so closely tied to him when he was considered the messenger of God. They didn't mind bending over backwards to push through his ignorant foreign and domestic policies. They didn't mind towing the line and re-spouting the administration's lies. They should own all their actions and inactions.

12. I'm trying to tie Jane Harman (Dem from the 36th CA District)
to Bush, in order to propel Marcy Winograd's candidacy to unseat her in the CA democratic primary on June 6.

Harman's support of Bush's foreign policy has left her almost universally hated and despised in Venice and Mar Vista. Harman's support may be greater in the South Bay, where there are a lot of defense contractors (and employment in the defense industry).

Please remember, however, that the position of Ron Paul (Rep. from Texas) is more anti-Bush than the position of Harman. I say it's time to purge the Democratic Party of the Lieberman\Gephardt\Feinstein DINOs.

11. Wrong move.....
All it takes a few well placed "incidents" and the GOP will be back on top of the security game. And Dems will look out of place.

They should run on how BADLY the GOP has run this country, THE WAR and the lies! The Corruption...

:wtf:
