Grenade Blast Cripples Iraq Vet's Memory
RICHMOND HILL, Ga. - His 3-year-old son Nicholas' first steps, the first time Liam, his newborn, smiled — Staff Sgt. Douglas Piper lived to see them. Then his scarred memory erased even those precious moments.

"I can't remember what they did yesterday," Piper says. "Sometimes, I can't remember what I did yesterday. The days are broken."

Iraq left the 30-year-old Piper in his own personal fog of war, one in which remembering the moments and days since April 2003 can be as confusing a puzzle as predicting his civilian future.

Three years ago, in the war's first month, Piper became one of the now more than 17,000 U.S. troops wounded in action. A grenade blast in Baghdad mangled his right eye, collapsed his right eardrum and slammed his brain against the inside of his skull.

1. Sadyly, the DoD will deny this soldier of full benefit..
claiming that he is only 72.3% disabled by some foggy bottomed formula deep within the walls of the Pentagon.

2. We MUST remember our brave veterans who gave so much to protect us.
We do have enemies other than Bush and despite our Vets patriotism being misused and abused by Bushco, we need to honor and remember their on-going suffering caused by the criminal syndicate who has taken over our government.

Short memories Nice story but 5 years from now will anyone remember this boys name any more than it remembers the name of the soldiers who died last week fighting the Bush war?

=Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all...

3. the ripple effect....
from the past 6 yrs will shape our society for generations. For every life that is touched directly, many more are affected. Sometimes the source of the disease is nourished by the treatment of the symptoms....and on and on it goes....
