5. You know in a perverse way...
I almost wonder what would happen if another terrorist attack hit us.

Sure would show that the fuckwad-in-chief has been doing so much criminal shit that he's ignored the real threat.

I thought this asshole was supposed to protect us?

WHY ARE THESE BASTARDS NOT IN JAIL YET???

if it is big enough. Like it or not the population will forgive * for that event and we will hear "he did the best he could" afterwards.

14. an "extremist message board"???
um, can't they track the IP addresses and arrest these people?

if not, they should at least share the link with us, so we can decide for ourselves

however, if "terrorists" are JUST NOW realizing they can kill large numbers of people at sporting events, they're fucking idiots :eyes:

to the games. Wouldn't that have a negative affect on the economy?

And why are the rest of us supposed to shop? (Old instructions from Bush &/or Homeland Security)

Edit:
The FBI said it is unaware of any specific or credible plans to attack any sporting event but notes that terrorist groups have mounted attacks at sporting events in the past.

26. FBI said it is unaware of any specific or credible plans
According to the FBI bulletin, the author of the posting recommended using "three to five blond or black American Muslim suicide bombers." The FBI said the author suggested that homemade explosives be hidden under their winter clothing.

The posting recommended, according to the FBI, that one suicide bomber detonate inside the stadium and the others detonate at exit gates as spectators were fleeing.

"The combined explosions would create a panic that would kill far more spectators than the bombing alone," the FBI quotes the message as saying.

The FBI said it is unaware of any specific or credible plans to attack any sporting event but notes that terrorist groups have mounted attacks at sporting events in the past.

28. huh - specify "how it could be done" then state - but there is no
specific or credible threat (as in detected plans)?

geez.

Bush down in the polls - scare midamerica back into fear/support?

Here in Central Indiana I believe both the Big Ten mens and womens tourney is scheduled - I'll keep my ears open to see if there is any murmer from folks picking up and actually believing that there might be a threat. I predict that folks are getting tired, and these warnings are so predictable (in terms of timed with bush downs in polls) that it is shrugged off or not even noticed in the first place.

FBI: No Credible Threat, but Be Vigilant

Saturday March 11, 2006 1:16 AM

By MARK SHERMAN

Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI said Friday there is no specific, credible threat of a terror attack aimed
at college basketball arenas or other sports stadiums, but acknowledged alerting law enforcement
to a recent Internet posting discussing such attacks.

The FBI and Homeland Security Department distributed an intelligence bulletin Friday to state and
local law enforcement nationwide describing the online threat against sporting venues, said
Special Agent Richard Kolko, an FBI spokesman in Washington.

"We have absolutely no credible intelligence or threats pertaining to this issue," Kolko said.

34. FBI warns of possible terror threat at sports events
The FBI said Friday there is no specific, credible threat of a terror attack aimed at college basketball arenas or other sports stadiums but acknowledged alerting law enforcement to a recent Internet posting discussing such attacks.
The FBI and Homeland Security Department distributed an intelligence bulletin Friday to state and local law enforcement nationwide describing the online threat against sporting venues, said Special Agent Richard Kolko, an FBI spokesman in Washington.

"We have absolutely no credible intelligence or threats pertaining to this issue," Kolko said. With conference tournaments taking place this weekend and the NCAA Tournament scheduled to begin Thursday, the bulletin was sent "out of an abundance of caution," Kolko said. "We have been in touch with Homeland Security and the FBI about this issue," NCAA spokesman Erik Christiansen said.

"We do not believe there is an imminent threat. We are in constant communication with the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security and the FBI. This is not new; we are in regular contact with all these law enforcement agencies at every level." Madison Square Garden was made aware of the terror threat early Friday. MSG spokesperson Eric Gelfand said the Garden has been under a high-terror alert since Sept. 11, 2001, and said that MSG officials hadn't noticed anything suspicious Friday. He said all patrons were wanded as they entered the Garden for Friday night's Big East semifinals.

Greg Shaheen, an NCAA vice president who oversees the Division I men's basketball tournament, told ESPN.com in an email from Indianapolis on Friday that Homeland Security and the FBI asked the NCAA "to revisit security plans and assure appropriate contingencies have been made." Shaheen wrote that there had been "no imminent, direct or specific threat related to the NCAA Championships," as referenced in some media reports. Shaheen said the NCAA takes the matter seriously and will work with all host and facility partners. "Our priority is the safety of our student-athletes and followers all day, every day," he said.

39. Terror threat at the following:
any place with large numbers of people.

How about football games, baseball games, hockey games, comic book conventions...

I mean, what is the point of issuing vague threats that have no meaning?

It's all CYA. You miss a major attack where 3000 people are killed. Now you say everything is threatened. And of course, the administration can use more fear mongering when their approval rating is in the shitter and when they want to start a war with another country.

If there's a threat, go stop it.

Otherwise, don't waste our time.
