Iraqis denounce Americans over killing of mayor (US appointed)
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/GEO046490.htm

BAGHDAD, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Hundreds of Iraqis turned out on Monday to mourn the death of the mayor of the vast Sadr City district of Baghdad, denouncing U.S. soldiers they said had killed him a day earlier.

The U.S. military said a soldier had shot a man outside the district council building on Sunday after he fought with another soldier and tried to grab his gun. The man died later from his wounds, the military said. It declined to name him.

Women dressed in black beat their chests in a traditional Muslim mourning ritual and men carried banners declaring mayor Muhanad Ghazi al-Kabi had been "killed by American bullets" and condemning the U.S. soldiers involved.

Men bore Kabi's coffin, draped in an Iraqi flag, through the streets of Sadr City, a poor mainly Shi'ite area made up largely of slums that is home to more than two million people.

6. I don't usually like to comment on people's personal appearance
But that man is one of the slimiest looking used-car-salesmen-type people I've ever seen. I can't imagine how anyone trusted him to do anything.

3. the blunder train pushes on..
this is in Sadr's territory, who was just the other day making really abrupt and humiliating conciliatory gestures towards the occupation authorities. Is somebody scripting this stuff to appear as clumsy as possible, or is that just happening naturally?
