Rumsfeld: Iranian regime is world's leading sponsor of state terrorism
MUNICH, Germany Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is urging the world to work for a "diplomatic solution" to halt Iran's nuclear program.

He also wants allies of the United States to increase their military spending.

Rumsfeld is in Germany at the annual Munich security conference. In remarks prepared for delivery today, he says Iran is the world's "leading state sponsor of terrorism."

He says terrorists want to use Iraq as the "central front," turning it into a training and recruitment area.

8. It will work for him as long as so many people believe it
Of course, Americans have hardly any viable choices for alternate viewpoints. Those viable alternatives that DO exist get trashed in the LIBRUL mainstream media and on hate radio & television. Americans are slowly waking up and realizing that they are as naked as their chimperor. However, the stream of cognizant folk is coming about as slow as molasses in January. When you see a young American college student wearing a shirt that say "property of the U.S.," you quickly come to realize how little some value their REAL freedoms. The result of this regime of fascism will be a generation of Americans who have never seen real freedom, only newspeak freedom.

17. My boys are men now, late 20s, and they have expressed
a pessimism about the future of the country that I have a hard time refuting. And, I remember when I was teaching at Cal in the 90s, my students seemed more conservative every semester. And that was at Berkeley. I can only imagine what Stanford looked like, and that was ten years ago.

3. More here from the Miami Herald
>snip<

"We could choose to pretend, as some suggest, that the enemy is not at our doorstep. We could choose to believe, as some contend, that the threat is exaggerated.

"But those who would follow such a course must ask: what if they are wrong? What if at this moment, the enemy is counting on being underestimated, counting on being dismissed, and counting on our preoccupation," Rumsfeld said.

>snip<

He said Islamic militants are on the move and have to be checked.

"They seek to take over governments from North Africa to Southeast Asia and to re-establish a caliphate they hope, one day, will include every continent," he said. "They have designed and distributed a map where national borders are erased and replaced by a global extremist Islamic empire."

11. Even a stopped clock is right..
... twice a day. Iran is exactly that. Problem is, they have been that for decades. Why didn't we do something there instead of wasting our time, money and lives in Iraq?

Remember, it was the neocons that said the Soviets were behind all terrorism just a couple decades ago. They were dead wrong then, dead wrong on WMDs, why should we believe them now??

16. I think there will be an attack in Israel similar to 911 and
Iran will be blamed. It will be the reason we go into Iran.

Anyone who says they don't want to start a war with Iran is in serious denial.

20. I thought there was an arrest warrant out
for Rummy in Germany? And didn't he already say that about Iraq? This man is certifiable and he needs to be sent away for a long long rest...like in jail.
