Blunt: Media Drove Leadership Race Outcome
Edited on Fri Feb-03-06 11:19 PM by wicket

A day after his loss in the race for House majority leader, Missouri Rep. Roy Blunt (news, bio, voting record) said Friday that media calls for a new face in the party's leadership rather than a desire by Republicans for change drove the outcome.

Blunt said House members reacted to a daily drumbeat of negative news stories stoked by a few Republicans who did not speak for the party as a whole.

"The five or six people that will talk to the media about what bad shape we're in are not reflective of 225 of their colleagues," Blunt said.

"I don't want to say the media is to blame but ... if you can find a story that focused on anything but change, you come and show it to me," he said.

Cry some big crocodile tears for us Roy! :nopity:

1. Shows how much they want to distance themselves
from Delay. Boner is just as sleazy as blunt but he wasn't tainted by association with the now disgraced bugman.

4. AAAWWWW!
Do any of these guys ever lose gracefully? Its never their own damn fault; always "extenuating" circumstances. I swear, I hate these selfish people more and more every day. 9 more months of hypocrisy and laying all blame on others. Gotta have patience - gotta have patience - gotta have.....

2. The Rethugs are never to blame for anything...it's everyone else's fault.
this is pitiful and such whinning ought to prove to the Rethugs themselves that they are no good.

3. Nah. They just wanted to make sure that they picked the right guy.
So that should tell us loudly and clearly who was the slipperiest and sleaziest of the two.

5. Of course; that ol' librul media would expend SO much effort to
campaign against one candidate one degree to the RIGHT of attilla the hun for another candidate one degree to the LEFT of attilla the hun.

One of these days when the repubs get a hold of the White House, the House, the Senate, K street lobbyists, and corporate media, they're really going to stick it to the 'Murkin people.... oh, wait...

9. Now, what if you are the vector for change?
Nooo.... Too dangerous. US politicians have massively contributed to the reign of form over, or even without, content (aka reframing). So wysiwyg.
