Qaeda No 2 praises 'martyrs' in Afghanistan
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 02:40 PM by ECH1969
Al-Qaeda's number 2, Ayman al-Zawahiri, paid tribute to the Islamist "martyrs" in Afghanistan, in an audiotape posted on an Islamist website purportedly from the target of an air strike last week.

The website said it was "a new speech by Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri, may God protect him".

In the style of classical Arabic poetry, the speaker praises "the martyrs of the Crusader campaign against Afghanistan".

He addresses "our brother mujahedeen (fighters) ... hunted by the Crusaders and mercenary bands in the mountains of Afghanistan, its valleys, villages, even in its wounded capital, Kabul".

4. Isn't he supposed to be dead?
Or was that Al Qaeda #2 from Earth X...or was it Earth Blue? I'm always confusing those.

5. The purpose of this piece of propaganda is an attempt...
to legitimize the Pakistan bombings last week.

Some may doubt these alleged al-Qaeda terra dudes were killed last week, now, you don't have to doubt it anymore.

Along comes this mysterious tape that confirms 'our' guys were martyred last week.

I thought the plan was to remove the four or five dead terra dudes' bodies so they won't know the real reason for the bombings.

Wasn't that the official story?

8. This the big scaaary surprise boogeyman tape from Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Four or five dead dudes in Pakistan have been reported to be allegedly linked to al-Qaeda even though the bodies were taken away by their buddies to hide the real reason for the attack, whatever the hell that means. All dead brown people allegedly have connections to al-Qaeda.

Your other boogeyman audio tape thread mentions tribute to his dead colleagues allegedly killed in Pakistan.

This article is not too detailed and doesn't even make sense.

No sign of al Qaeda dead from US strike -Pakistan

UNITED NATIONS, Jan 20 (Reuters) - No evidence has yet turned up of al Qaeda figures among the dead when a U.S. missile killed at least 18 people in a remote part of Pakistan, the South Asian nation's prime minister said on Friday.

"As of an hour ago, when I last checked with our relevant security agencies who are combing the area, they have not found any tangible evidence that a particular group or any individual was there," Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said.

Both the government and the people of Pakistan have condemned the Jan. 13 attack but will continue to look for victims and investigate their identities, Aziz told a news conference after talks with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

"We have been very active proponents and partners in the war against terror with the rest of the world, and we will continue to do so," he said during a U.S. visit that will take him to Washington next week.

10. I really am shocked.
Ayman al-Zawahiri may want to hold off on that big audio tape release.

It turns out his colleagues were not killed in Pakistan because they're probably sitting right next to him.

I will have to chart a graph with al-Qaeda dead dudes over a weeks period and it will go up and down up and down.

12. CNN: Bin Laden's No. 2 releases poetry tape
Bin Laden's No. 2 releases poetry tape
Al-Zawahiri recording doesn't mention CIA attempt to kill him
Friday, January 20, 2006

(CNN) -- With no mention of last week's attempt on his life, Ayman al-Zawahiri recited poetry to jihadists on a 17-minute audiotape that appeared on the Internet on Friday.

Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant was the target of a January 13 CIA airstrike on a home in Damadola, Pakistan, where al Qaeda members were believed to be attending a dinner.

Friday's tape makes no reference to dates, so it is unknown when al-Zawahiri recorded it. The Egyptian doctor has released numerous taped messages in recent months.

A U.S. counterterrorism official said "it could be old tape" because there is no reference to recent events. This official added that he doesn't "read much significance into it."

On Friday's tape -- which comes one day after a tape was released by bin Laden, the al Qaeda leader's first in a year -- al-Zawahiri recited a poem called "Tears in the Eyes of Time."...

17. Bad marketing strategy ...
"On Friday's tape -- which comes one day after a tape was released by bin Laden ..."

I hope they don't record for the same label -- diluted marketing and promotion efforts always result in lower initial sales for each artist.

Besides, I ain't buying (in more ways than one) any of this Bin Laden tape crap -- now, or ever again.

18. Hmmmmmm
Ayman al-Zawahiri's poetry talking points sound just like the president's.

"Roses are red/Violets are blue/Oh my, lump in the bed/How I've missed you," starts the romantic poem by President George W. Bush written to his wife, Laura Bush.

In a rare disclosure, the first lady shared her husband's mushy sentiment with a crowd assembled at the Library of Congress for the National Book Festival in Washington last weekend.

Why do al-Zawahiri and George W. Bush both recite poetry? I think we should be told.

:sarcasm:

21. he deicated the poem to several groups-including the lions--but who
are the lions?---US and Pakistani troops?

He dedicated his message to the "mujahedeen brothers in Palestine, Iraq and Chechnya, and to the lions who are targeting the crusaders in Afghanistan in its villages and mountains."

U.S. officials have said that between four and eight al Qaeda members were killed in the CIA attack in Damadola, near the Afghanistan border.
