Romney calls for sweeing GOP changes in ethics, spending

BOSTON Governor Romney thinks his fellow Republicans still have more work to do cleansing themselves of their ethical problems.

The governor told The Associated Press in an interview today that Congressman Bob Ney of Ohio should step down as chairman of the House Administration Committee because of his links to lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Romney also is applauding the decision of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who announced over the weekend he would not seek to return to the post because of his own upcoming ethics trial.

Romney is weighing a run for the White House after announcing he would not seek a second term in Massachusetts.

1. "But, no reform until I'm elected....he says under his breath....".
:D "It's good to talk about it though...just to give me some great points as I make plans for my run in 08."

:sarcasm:

3. The idea that the party of corruption and
ethical challenge should also be the judge of reform is so laughable as to be painful.

4. How about abandoning your post and barely even attempting to
actually do your job and instead campaigning for your next job literally before you actually took your current job?

9. "because of his own upcoming ethics trial."
"ethics trial"? He is going to criminal court on two felony counts, one of which can put Delay in Prison for life if convicted and he gets the maximum sentence. What is this "ethics trial" crap? Maximum sentence for money laundering in Texas is Life Imprisonment....

10. Well, now we know for sure...
that Mitt is running for Prez in '08.

He just doesn't realize how much his being Mormon will freak out the right wing fundie "base".

No way in hell the GOP will ever nominate a mormon. Not with all the freaky shit that goes on in mormon temples that most of the American public doesn't know about.
