Pulling US troops would lead to 'disaster' -- Kissinger
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 06:10 PM by Barrett808
WASHINGTON (AFP) - Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger warned that a hasty pullout of American troops from Iraq would lead to political and military "disaster", and called on the US administration to stay the course there.

"I think to look at withdrawal from Iraq ... could lead to disaster," said Kissinger, who served as the top US diplomat in the administrations of presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

"We have to keep in mind what our objective should be, and if we leave Iraq under conditions at the end of which there will be a radical government in Baghdad, or part of the country becomes a haven for terrorism, it will have turned into a disaster that will affect the whole world," Kissinger said in an interview with CNN television.

He added that the global nature of terrorism makes it particularly difficult to chart a US exit strategy from Iraq.

"The terrorism is not confined to Iraq. It has gone from Bali in Indonesia to central Europe across many countries -- Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Spain, in some respects India," the former diplomat said.

Well, if Kissinger says so, then I'm convinced.

3. Me, too
That this murderous egomaniac was never prosecuted for war crimes will always be a massive disappointment to me.

If Kissinger says it, you can bet it's absolutely wrong.

But, you can bet that it's immoral.

Why isn't he dead yet?

20. Simple, he's a professional
Professionals know how to hide the evidence until after they're dead, how to suicide anyone who comes close to bringing the truth to light, or a case before the Grand Jury.

Kissinger is a professional, GHW Bush is a professional, Dimson is an amateur

24. You got that right
Gus Weiss was on his staff during the Nixon years. He was a genius who did most of Kissinger's thinking for him. When it was over, Gus got out and got involved with physics graduate students. Physics was his first love, not economics and war.

This Iraq thing had Gus upset, and, for the first time ever, he was going to speak out against it.

Two years ago this month, Gus's body was found behind his building - the Watergate, where he had a co-op. The story was that he had jumped, but the story - and his obituary - never appeared until he was already safely buried in Brooklyn.

He was my friend, and Gus didn't commit suicide. I knew him, and that was nothing he'd ever do.

10. The US offshoring confidental and private information is WHY they attack.
Damn straight that, by offshoring, we put our country at big risk.

And if Bush says it's good for the economy, he is not putting national security first - and that is one of the reasons some people still like him.

Stop the offshoring and those countries, in those respects, will be left alone.

Mr. Death. Wanted for questioning in many countries - he cannot enter or transfer at airports within certain countries unless he wants to be taken in for questioning for his role in the death of many Chilean and Argentinian people while in the WH.

P.S. Had business dealings with Malosovic. And there is always more in his long, inglorious, and questionable career. He is a citizen of the trade and trafficking world - he's da deal man.

For some reason I am thinking he was a major stockholder or on the board of Blackwater, KBR or one of the other murder-for-hire places. If so, that profit motive comes into play once again.

32. Well, that changes my mind then.
Now that a total tool of the war-profiteering corporations has spoken out, I guess I'm convinced that the war is just dandy.

Kissinger has been so right about Vietnam and all that other stuff, you just have to respect his opinion. He's almost as honest as Rumsfeld when it comes to giving the American people good advice. I bet he's the one that told Rumsfeld where those WMDs were.

I really hope Kissinger can be rewarded someday for his service to the People.

Henry has placed a model of REAL-POLI-TEAK on the world stage that many have been trying to imitate ever since.

Henry should be proud he was able to show how scummy one can be working for government and still get away with it :woohoo:
