"Martin to tell Bush Canada is "right" on softwood"
"OTTAWA (Reuters) - Prime Minister Paul Martin pledged on Wednesday to tell U.S.President George W. Bush that Canada is "in the right" on a softwood lumber dispute and that the United States should give in on duties on the lumber. "

Chimpy is said to have responded "Softwood eh? Someone see if we can get Bob Dole to help out on this."

1. Canada is right on a great many things in relation to its rogue neighbor..

Why they don't throw up a giant metal wall along their entire border is a great mystery. I wouldn't take any chance on these right wing zealots, fundie freaks and red state jackasses trying to get thru customs and immigration. (Red state being a state of mind. Not our many blue friends in the "red" states.)

3. Damn right, were right!
Let's make this CLEAR: George W. Bush will NEVER dictate the lives of ANY Canadian. We are a free nation of proud people. I am a Canadian, and I will fight for my country against this tyrant.

4.  Hey Mr. Martin. Look here.

Any of these quotes sound familiar?

"I really think Canada should get over to Iraq as quickly as possible." - (Paul Martin, North Bay Nugget, April 30, 2003).

"I don't think there is any doubt, if there ever was... that does have weapons of mass destruction. ...he had lied and that he is continuing to lie." - (Paul Martin, Calgary Herald, March 7, 2003)

"The problem is...we know well that there is proliferation of nuclear weapons and that many of the weapons that Saddam Hussein had, for example, we do not know where they are, so that means the terrorists have access to all that." - (Paul Martin, Globe and Mail, May 11, 2004)

"Once the war in Iraq began, Canada was far from neutral." - (Paul Martin, CTV News, May 21, 2004)

You lying hypocrite. Sounds like you were behind bush back then. What happened?

5. I am not necessarily a great Paul Martin fan
And I don't know if he would have had the gumption to keep us out of Iraq the way Chretien did. Still, your quotes have an awful lot of ellipsis in them (hope I spelled that right - the...I mean). I would prefer to see the entire quote in context before rendering a judgment on the matter.

6. I had a meeting with my MP
and brought along every map I could find that demonstrated the "oil wars" scenario including the one made famous by Michael Moore in his movie (yes, that's MY map).

I suspect she went back to her people and asked "what's this idiot talking about", found out I was basically right, and advised Martin to shut up about Iraq.
