Reid rejects Bush's remarks
WASHINGTON -- Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada accused President Bush on Friday of resorting to political attacks as his credibility diminishes.

"Attacking those patriotic Americans who have raised serious questions about the case the Bush administration made to take our country to war does not provide us a plan for success that will bring our troops home," Reid said in a statement, referring to the president's earlier remarks in Tobyhanna, Pa.

Bush accused critics of trying to rewrite history and charged that they're undercutting America's forces on the front lines.

Reid also charged that the Bush administration continues to stonewall efforts by Congress to find out if intelligence was manipulated to justify going to war. The president still does not have a plan to measure success for the war in Iraq, Reid said.

4. I was a bit uncertain when Harry Reid was elected Minority Leader....
He's from a swing state and could be targeted just like Daschle.

Well my doubts are long gone. Harry Reid is the best thing to happen to the Democratic party since Bill Clinton poked his head up in 1990 and said "I'm gonna run".

Give 'em Hell, Harry!

10. I think his strength is that people underestimate him
To look at the guy too, kind of an average looking sort, and from a swing state like you say.

His approach to the Miers nomination alone was worth our congratulations. Miers was more of a sure thing for overturning RvW than Alito will be. Reid's oh-so-deft support for her earned him friends without the price, since Brownback decided to "drop the ball" on that nomination anyway (and keep on milking/worshipping his Golden Cow, single-issue, "Pro-Life" voters and Mammon's Churches of War-bots with new Gay Hating Fodder). :(

5. Will Local Papers Report This?
like they did Bush's speech all over the place? Hell no! The press won't air the dissent from the minority party.

Let the manipulation begin all over again.

and it won't be because the dems aren't hitting back at his obscene speech yesterday, it's because the MSM are still somewhat scared and manipulated by these bullies.

7. The blivet doesn't want anyone questioning anything,
despite so much proof to the contrary.

Bush accused critics of trying to rewrite history and charged that they're undercutting America's forces on the front lines.

A former repug friend told me that * is prez, we HAVE to respect him.:eyes:
I'm just hoping some of these people are waking up! With all the scandals assailing this admin daily, if they're not awakening from their lethargy, I suppose there is no hope for many of them.

16. She's in her 70s; used to be very liberal, moved to FL,
and while she didn't find God or religion per se, she found her niche, I guess. Her brother is gay, too. I have never gotten over her pulling a 180 on me.
As far as Clinton goes, she was disgusted by his actions. This, from a woman who lived 'in sin' with my uncle for 20 years.
She's a breathing dichotomy...

9. Americans just need to chant : "I do believe . .I do believe .
I do believe . . . I do believe . . . I do believe . . . ." and not ask any questions; do not do any "reality testing"; just keep waving the holy-f - - - g flag; punish Evil and kick it out of everyone's lives wherever we encounter it; concentrate hard on what a nice guy GWB is and what a "great lady" his is mother is; and just pray and think about "God" a lot and angels; and close our eyes and wish real hard, and don't think any bad thoughts, and if we keep focused long enough and pure enough, just Faith, Faith, Faith, Faith and nothing else!!! Everything will come out okay, because God loves us more than anyone else. If we Trust and obey, everything will be okay.

21. Cindy Sheehan, Max Clellan, Harry Reid, Joe Wilson, DU
It wasn't one person. It was multiple self-launchings, and groups chipping against what was like forged alloy steel armor plate. But it happened.

Will Pitt, Josh Marshall, Bartcop, Galloway, Charles Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton,

I think it's time for a thread on the names of people who did this.

I think she really gave the final big "twhack" to the maladministration and split it open.

26. Where's Dean on your list? If I remember correctly
Edited on Sun Nov-13-05 08:57 AM by MoJoWorkin
he took a brutal beating at the hands of his own party, as well as MSM, and is still standing tall today. Dean has been relentless in chipping away at the smirk from day one, and saw thru BFEE lies better than 90% of all the prominent dems.

23. Good on Harry--more and more impressive!
As for the shrub he continues to accuse the Dem's of everything he and his henchmen do themselves.
It is all coming back to haunt them though.
Although I seldom watch the msm since the 2nd. stolen election, I've noticed a slightly more balanced approach from them--at least AP. news on AA.

innovation has impressed me and there seems to be a good connection- for once- between a top Senate leader and the best of the progressive Internet. It improves the talking points, response time and connection to a canny progressive base.

27. Rewrite history....
I recall a few years ago, when Iraq started to become a quagmire. Al Jazeera started reporting on it, and they posted horrific photos. I remember how incensed Washington became over that. They protested loudly.

Paul Wolfowitz was furious. He said, "All we're asking for is a little fairness". Fairness? When everything they did was slanted. I'm sure the word "rewrite history" came up, even then.
