Galloway fraud claims 'unfounded' (BBC)
The Respect MP had said he suspected thousands of fraudulent postal votes were cast in the 5 May election.

But in a London Assembly draft report, police said it was the result of unreliable electoral records held by Tower Hamlets Council.

The Respect party is standing by his claims. Tower Hamlets said Mr Galloway never produced a shred of evidence.

The Metropolitan Police launched an inquiry for the London Assembly, following Mr Galloway's allegation of fraud after the election.

Note to mods: Slightly older than LBN rules normally allow, but this hasn't been posted before and will likely be of interest to some DUers.

2. Galloway is a piece of scum
He is not on our side. As much as I detest GWB's policies, Galloway is blatantly anti-Jewish. He's on record as supporting terrorist actions against innocent civilians.

9. Do your own googling
I done have the time to waste right now. I've heard him speak enough times to know what he's all about.

Either extreme end of the political spectrum are equally galling to me. I'm all for social freedom, limited free market economy with some wealth re-distribution, universal public healthcare with freedom to access to private heal;thcare, etc. That's why I consider myself moderate rather than right-wing or left-wing.

8. It is possible to hate both
It's not mutually exclusive, unless you subscirbe to Bush's "You're either with or against us". Fuck that shit, I hate both cocksuckers.

4. Unfortunately...
Galloway is good (*very* good) at grandstanding and making speeches. And he's rubbish at everything else, including being an MP.

5. What I read on the link.. It really didn't matter if Galloway voted or not
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 01:08 PM by Rainscents
Galloway vote would had made tie 300 - 300, which mean, speaker of the house would had voted tie breaker in which case, he would had voted with Government.

13. He wouldn't have known the exact numbers before the vote
But he certainly SHOULD have known it would be very close and bothered to turn up and do his job with regards to EXACTLY the kind of bill that most of the people in Bow and Bethnal Green who elected him are so (rightly) disturbed by. As it was, Gorgeous George would rather wallow in the media attention he's oh so shrewdly garnered for himself.
