1. Will a congressional investigation be launched?
will it be fair and impartial or simply a cover up?

2. Democrats claimed “victory for the American people”

MSNBC staff and news service reports
Updated: 6:01 p.m. ET Nov. 1, 2005

WASHINGTON - Democrats claimed “victory for the American people” Tuesday after the Senate Intelligence Committee agreed to continue an investigation into prewar intelligence claims made by the Republicans, the Senate minority leader said.

Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., forced the Republican-controlled Senate into an unusual closed session for more than two hours Tuesday, accusing Republicans of ignoring intelligence that President Bush used before invading Iraq.

A phase-by-phase investigation will resume, Reid announced after the secret session. It will be the second stage of a probe that Democrats have been pressing for for a year.

16. Either that, or BRING ME THE BROWN PANTS!!!
Long ago, when sailing ships ruled the waves, a captain and his crew were in danger of being boarded by a pirate ship. As the crew became frantic, the captain bellowed to his First Mate, "Bring me my red shirt!" The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt, which the captain put on and led the crew to battle the pirate boarding party. Although some casualties occurred among the crew, the pirates were repelled.

Later that day, the lookout screamed that there were two pirate vessels sending boarding parties. The crew cowered in fear, but the captain, calm as ever bellowed, "Bring me my red shirt!" And once again the battle was on, the Captain and his crew repelled both boarding parties, though this time more casualties occurred.

Weary from the battles, the men sat around on deck that night recounting the day's occurrences when an ensign looked to the Captain and asked, "Sir, why did you call for your red shirt before the battle?" The Captain, giving the ensign a look that only a captain can give, exhorted, "If I am wounded in battle, the red shirt does not show the wound and thus, you men will continue to fight unafraid." The men sat in silence, marveling at the courage of such a man.

As dawn came the next morning, the lookout screamed that there were pirate ships, 10 of them, all with boarding parties on their way. The men became silent and looked to the Captain, their leader, for his usual command. The Captain, calm as ever, bellowed, "Bring me my brown pants!"

5. I wonder if his nose grew when he said this
"Roberts said, but it has not been completed. He said he had intended all along to work on the second phase beginning next week."

9. I'd love to know what they were chatting about at the back of the room
during Reid's speech. Frist certainly seemed way too defensive. Sure seems like he over-reacted to a rather simple request in light of Roberts claim that he intended to get back on this next week. (Tee-hee).

As Reid spoke, Frist met in the back of the chamber with a half-dozen senior GOP senators, including Roberts, who bore the brunt of Reid’s criticism. Reid said Roberts reneged on a promise to fully investigate whether the administration exaggerated and manipulated intelligence leading up to the war.

7. Frist said that the Democrats demand for an investigation
of the Intelligence prior to the war was an "affront to all Americans". We all know exactly what that statement really meant.

10. Senate Intelligence Committee Investigation
Are the testimonies in Senate investigations given under oath? I am afraid if they are NOT under oath, we will never get the truth from these SOB's.

13. if witnesses aren't under oath, they're in front of the cameras
"for the record," and their words can be used against them. Also, a senatorial committee doesn't like to be lied to...

14. Testimony
Yes, but we are not dealing with normal people. This bunch can and will do anything but tell the truth because their staying power is based on the public NOT knowing the truth!!

11. Oh, to be a fly on the wall....
"The Senate had been considering a budget bill when it went into closed session."

I would pay good money to have been there when, in the middle of some undoubtedly dry, boring budget issue discussion, Harry Reid stood up...with the Democrats unified...and basically gobsmacked the entire GOP Senate...and they never saw it coming.

The hanging jaws, the spluttering, the obscenities...shit, man, that's good theater!
