Pirro in Radio Daze
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 03:55 PM by brooklynite
October 19, 2005 -- ALBANY — Republican Senate hopeful Jeanine Pirro sought to energize her struggling campaign against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday with her first radio commercial — but again found herself dogged by gaffes.

Pirro, the Westchester County district attorney, showed up at the wrong location for a Capitol press conference, despite a campaign press release listing the right location.

Later, she was asked about earlier gaffes, including an embarrassing 30-second-plus delay in her kickoff speech caused by a missing page of text.

Pirro responded, "I got to tell you, was it my best day? Absolutely not. Am I better than that? Absolutely not (sic)."

20. The Post is a RW fishwrap, but it also rarely passes on a chance to mock
if the story's juicy enough. They know where their bottom line is.

GOP rival hits Hillary up for money

NEW YORK, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Republican Senate hopeful Jeanine Pirro wasted 37 cents on a fundraising letter to the incumbent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The letter from Pirro's campaign was familiarly addressed to "Dear Hillary" and said, "I need you and every New Yorker," although it was sent to Clinton's former address at the White House in Washington. Clinton was asked to pony up $1,000.

"No wonder Ms. Pirro raised so little money," Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told the New York Post.

7. Sounds like she's following in Little Ricky Lazio's footsteps
He began his campaign by falling on his face in a parade and cutting his lip, and ended it by stepping in dogdoo while headed back to his car after his last event before the election.

11. LOL
That's right. I forgot the stepping in dog shit part.

The best was his NY Times Magazine cover, which made him look for all the world like a complete mental defective.

17. WORSE than Lazio
At least he carried his hometown (Long Island) by a whopping 3%. Do you think Pirro will even win in Westchester?

I don't think so.

10. LOL - Pirro: Gaffe-Artist
She takes the political gaffe to the level of an artform.

That seals it. She's now perpetually branded as a gaffe-artist.

Senate? After this string of catastrophes, she'll be lucky to retain her DA seat!

13. She's not running again
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 05:17 PM by Ignacio Upton
If she was she would lose. Because of all the corruption from her and her husband, she only won in 2001 by six points over Democrat Tony Castro (which is a narrow victory for the standard of local races, and much narrower than her 1997 victory). Tony Castro is also the Democratic candidate for DA this year, and he is in a close race with Pirro clone Janet DiFiore (who tried to intimidate a Right to Life candidate to bow out of the DA race so he would not take votes away from her.)

18. She has GOT to be doing this on purpose
She knows she hasn't got a chance against Hillary, so she must be TRYING to make a loss inevitable. In sports, "running up" a score is frowned upon. I think she's set a record for trying to run a score DOWN!!!
