Ambushed US vehicle crushes Iraqis in cruel fluke
Ambushed US vehicle crushes Iraqis in cruel fluke

By Michael Georgy

BAGHDAD, Oct. 24 — The Jawrani family escaped the gunfire that hit an American patrol a few feet away on Friday. But their luck soon ran out.
A U.S. armoured personnel carrier (APC) fleeing the highway ambush crushed to death the father, mother and young daughter as they drove home from a family gathering.

Tragedy can strike at any time in postwar Iraq, and it often makes little sense.

''We were just driving along and we heard shooting and explosions. One APC was hit and the other escaped. Suddenly it moved across from the other side of the highway into our lane. It ran over the car,'' said the oldest daughter Barak, sobbing as she comforted her wounded sister Fatima, 7.

The U.S. military says it does not keep a tally of civilians killed by American soldiers. Human rights groups say thousands died in the Iraq war and scores more Iraqi civilians have been killed by U.S. fire and in accidents involving the military since then. (snip/...)

3. Eventually, somebody in Iraq is going to outdo Beruit
Coincidentally, that anniversary is upon us....241 Marines killed in one fell swoop.

The Bushies make one wonder....within the small window of life on Earth in which man has existed, how much more time do we all have left?

6. makes me ill
and I will take this vision to bed with me, as usual. These are innocent people--with families, with children they have born and whom they love--just like us--they are human beings--they have value--their lives will forever be changed and never be the same.

our troops are sent there, and are dying, being killed and assassinated-- being caught in Bush's "Bring em on" trap--and they cannot escape or voice their anger at little boy Bush and his insanity.

all for Bush's gain--all for his little foray into invasion to prove, in his Oedipal angst, he is a big Texan tough guy and to satisfy his obssession with killing and death as he stands there doling it out according to his adolescent will-- he scrambles around the world acting like a prince and his aging frump acting like the princess-- as if she actually has made a contribution to her country--makes me ill, this shallowness, this greed, as he hops around gathering in money and more money in an obscene, Bacchanalian pursuit of pleasure all wrapped up in the dollar and pursued at his pleasure for surely he is making lots of them, big time, in his rule.

our system is broken--there is something very putrid about it all when so many millions and millions of dollars are thrown at a man who is running for the highest office in the land, and people in that country are suffering for lack of enough money, no job, no health care and homeless and are being ignored. This makes me sick--the values of this country are so superficial that it is eroding our very fabric--

7. The Chimpanzee is a craven beast utterly without any redemption
The disgust and anger of those being ground into the dirt by his hobnail boots, will be visited 40 fold upon many innocent mother's children. He is a scourage and a pox on humanity.
