Goldman Sachs on Tuesday said third-quarter earnings surged 84 per cent from a year earlier as its investment bankers delivered their highest revenue in four years and its traders seized opportunities in the equity, credit and currency markets.

The Wall Street bank also announced a $7.1bn stock buy back that Thomson Financial said would rank as the largest ever in the investment banking sector.

2. The rich get richer under W, the poor are scum under W
Many of the billionaires such as Buffet and Gates, have tried to get the GOP to stop the tax cuts for the wealthy and to continue the estate tax.

W, and his merry band of Robin Hood in the Reverse, are insisting the rich get richer. Who cares if the middle class is eliminated and the poor die.

3. That's a huge buyback
Good for GS.

Their IPO was a huge deal, and that was only a few years ago (yes, Goldman didn't go public until 1999-2000 or so, if I recall).

4. Isn't Goldman Sachs one of the companies the GATA report said
helps the feds buy up futures contracts in order to boost the stock market and in return possibly gets insider information?
