Rice urges 'revolution of reform' at U.N.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2005-09-17-rice-un-speech_x.htm

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Unwilling to accept only the modest steps taken, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urged the United Nations on Saturday to move boldly to reform the world body so it can be more effective at fighting poverty and terrorism.

"For this institution to become an engine of change in the 21st century it must now change itself," Rice told the opening meeting of the annual General Assembly special session.

"The United Nations must launch a lasting revolution of reform," she said during her first U.N. speech....

notes:
People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. What has her government done but grow poverty in the world's richest nation over the past four or five years?

As for reform, what about her government's corruption?

She should be called on the blatant hypocrisy for what it is.

2. I believe the UN issued a 300 page report on poverty in the US.
Maybe we need to send her a copy.

3. I heard this on the tube and it's amazing to me how
much this paragraph could apply to the US gov't, FEMA, and the casualties, both living and dead, of Katrina:

"No cause, no movement, and no grievance can justify the intentional killing of innocent civilians and non-combatants," Rice said in urging adoption of a sweeping anti--terrorism convention. "This is unacceptable by any moral standard."

Too bad she doesn't practice what she preaches.

5. What is the proper term for "mis-nomenclature?"
You know, like the Patriot Act, or the Clear Skies Initiative, or the Iraqi Freedom Offensive, or the Healthy Forests regs.

6. The US is the one who scuttled the poverty plans.
What a lying jerk.

And terrorism is of course code of US Imperialism.

7. why doesn't she just stuff a sock in her mouth?
Next to bushie's voice I hate hers the most.

She is NOT a diplomat -- she is a self centered whinny voiced half human.
