Dean: Hillary Clinton told me she won't run
http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/8784.htm

October 22, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Democratic 2004 wannabe Howard Dean yesterday said Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton told him she wouldn't run for president this time - and that Bill Clinton said he won't publicly support any candidate in the primaries.

Despite widespread reports that the former president has privately talked up late entry Wesley Clark, Dean said he doesn't believe Clark is the Clintons' man.

1. Okay, how many times
does Hillary have to say before it sinks in for some people. She has said publicly NUMEROUS times that she has no plans for running. I wonder if she gets tired of answering this question.

2. The question must be asked repeatedly or thousands of rightwing pundits
will be thrown into unemployment and will then have to eat crow and advocate Congress authorize additional benefit extensions. Have you no heart?

3. Yeah, seriously
What a sad excuse for "news." I guess the Post got a preview of the interview with Dean but only listened when "Clinton" came up. Maybe Hillary needs to run a non-campaign with the slogan "Hillary Clinton: NOT IN 2004, YOU STUPID MORANS!"

18. Right wingers are so used to their own people lying that they just can't
believe a Democrat who tells the truth. It is inconceivable to them that a politician won't go back on their word. Theirs do it all the time.

4. Looks like insider Howard is talkin' to other insiders
but isn't he supposed to be an outsider?

12. ummm....
generally, when you run for President, whether you're an insider or an outsider, you call around and let important people know that you're running to see who they're supporting, if they'd support you, and so forth. Every outsider, from McGovern to Kucinich, does this.

16. generally, when you pose as an outsider
you don't act like you're privy to inside dope and have informal OTR conversations with movers and shakers like Hillary.
Guess Dean slipped and let the mask come off for a moment, but no surprise since his ego has gotten the best of him before.

17. Well, Dean worked with Hillary on healthcare
So they know each other. I recall reading that she was the only person he called to ask if she was going to run. I suspect that if she was going to he might have decided not to run. Dean has always had a great deal of respect and admiration for the Clintons. They have been on friendly terms for a very long time. That's most likely why Bill Clinton came out to defend Dean against that dumb DLC memo.

5. Hillary Clinton IS Running...
I have it on good authority that Senator Hillary Clinton will announce her candidacy for President of the United States right after the New Jersey primary.

OK, now the joke can be revealed. :-)

And actually I was being literally truthful. Hillary Clinton will run for President someday. Hopefully 2012.

13. Dean's correct
He has said numerous times previously that he asked Hillary if she were running before he decided to run. She kept her word to him and to the people of New York. (Also, notice the use of the word "wannabe." Sounds kind of like a slap at Dean. Of course, it IS the N.Y. Post.)

15. I do believe Clinton will never say anything bad about candidates.
He never says anything bad about W except that he has
a different opinion.

Clinton carries no chips on shoulders.

I'm for Kucinich/Dean/Clark.....may one or all succeed!!!
